Default Modding in general, Saturn especially

I have a Sega Saturn, and a few import games. Obviously, I have no way for these to work, and although I am about to order an Action Replay cart, I'm worried about the rumors that it kills your cart slot in the same way as the NES.

I have no modding knowledge whatsoever. Whenever I read a modding page, I get lost and confused, usually, as my knowledge of electrical stuff is paltry. I have a non-working Sega CD with a blown fuse but I don't even know how to go about getting a new fuse.

Is there a place where one could learn the basics? Or possibly a place where one could send his systems in for a professional modding?
    Alert the internet.

The only thing I ever heard about the action replay cart is that the switch for the 1m -4m goes out, but I heard that it's from removing the cart, somthin about the static electricity discharge, easy way around that is don't remove that cart!

As far as the dead sega cd PM Omnedon sp? here on the forum he has a website for fixing consoles that have "issues". You just mail him the system and he does the work.
