Storing & Showcasing Old Gameboy, GBC and GBA games

Been preparing my room of doom and was going to stack up some of my old gameboy, gbc and gba games but most of the old boxes were pretty flimsy. Only good ones were the ones that had the plastic insert in them to give the whole case strength. As for the other ones that have a small sleeve and the rest of the box blank, what does everyone use to keep the boxes from getting smushed up? Could mailing peanuts be used inside of the boxes? Just trying to get an idea on what others are using. Anyone else deal with this problem before?

I've not had this problem. I simply line my boxes up on a shelf. Even my boxes with some damage seem to hold up well this way. Stacking boxes is probably a bad idea. But if you must, anything that will fill that space will work. Just be sure to put the manual and inserts in first, else you risk damaging them on whatever you put in there.

That's never happened to me...than again, I do have all my boxes stuffed with their manual/game holder. It's pretty sturdy.

Yeap, bookshelf them. I personally don't like taking the carts in and out of the boxes due to the fact that some of the older boxes are harder (impossible) to replace. I bookshelf the boxes, and store all my carts in mini-plastic drawers from Walmart / Target.

I do the exact same thing. I imagine most collectors that want to play the games would go this route.

Thanks for the different ideas. I'm gonna have to try to get creative with the boxes and games because I still like to play them often. Only so much room available since I have to put for the sega and nintendo collections plus with the sofa and tv. Damm, I need a bigger room Does anyone have a picture or link of those little drawers from target? I'm drawing a brain freeze over here at work.

I've got two of these stacked together for all my handheld cartridges. The top comes off of one unit and the wheels come off the other and they snap together. I've got nearly 1000 games stored in the two sets and there's room for more. I don't have room to display the boxes, so they are boxed and in the attic until I move and have more room.
