Default An Apple II a day....

So I thought I'd start a thread about my favorite classic computer, my Apple IIe. I figured I'd start with the games that I have that I liked and see what games everyone else likes. Or maybe a top 25 or something.

    Skyfox
    Seafox
Star Trek : the kobayashi alternative (text)
    Ultima III (text)
    Bard's Tale (text)
    Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy
    Moonmist (horror text game)
    Dino Eggs
    Flight Simulator II
    Moebius
Kings Quest (any & all really)

and most of the Bronderbund titles ie Choplifter, Lode Runner etc

I'm on dial-up at this computer, I'll see if i can upload some images at my other computer later!

You chose some nice games though the Bard's Take and Ultima III aren't text adventures like Moon Mist is.

    Some of my favorite Apple II games were;

    Wizardry (Sir-Tech)
    The Bard's Tale (Electronic Arts)
    Might & Magic (New World)
    Ultima IV & V (Origin)
    Transylvania (Penguin)
    Alter Ego (Activision)
    Amazon (Trillium)
    Planetfall (Infocom)
    Sorcerer (Infocom)
    Trinity (Infocom)
    Aztec (Datamost)
Pretty Much All of the SSI Gold Box RPGs
    Spare Change (Broderbund)
    Lode Runner (Broderbund)
    Boulder Dash (Microfun)

There's really so many Apple II games that I loved while growing up that I'm sure that I'll tihink of another dozen or so during the day at work.

    And as I do in almost every Apple II thread I have to link to the following two websites;

AppleWin - In my opinion the best and easiest to use Apple II emulator out there.

Asimov.net - The Grand Daddy of all Apple II ftp sites. If you played it while growing up, the odds are you'll find it here.

Good, I didn't want to be the first person to say it, but my two absolute favorite Apple II games are Oregon Trail and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego.

Is it just me or does it seem that Infocom & Bronderbund have a lot of solid titles for the Apple.

Are there any games that these 2 companies made that you would stay away from.

The only one that I have played that i didn't really care for was Lode Runner Championship Edition, To hard loses alot of it's fun value.

Indeed. I would say that Infocom, Broderbund, and Sierra made (or at least published) the best Apple II games back then.

Well it depends on personal taste but I'd say my LEAST favority Infocom games were Return to Zork and Nord and Bert Couldn't Make Heads or Tails of It. Return to Zork was one of the later graphical Infocom games and I wasn't into the puns on N&B.
