Just curious how much more being factory sealed makes games? I know if it's a crappy game probably not much but of a popular game? Found a sealed copy of Super Mario Kart for SNES and was just curious...

There's a few dozen topics out there about this but I'll just answer what I can and let others leave links to the other topics and a mod to lock it.
When it comes to retro games on systems before 1985 usually the game is worth as much as a buyers wants to pay. For example, if you tried to sell it to me, I don't care much about old Atari games because they are flooded everywhere so why be picky about the one you have? Whereas a collector may want to pay you $20, maybe $300 depending on the title.
As for games after 1985 there's more of a general market on them for now. If you have a game that no one really wants and didn't get much attention and has no rarity about it then you might get an extra $2 or so on it because it's complete. If it is a rarer title or even just a highly saught after game then you'll be looking at anywhere between $5-100 or so.
For Super Mario Kart I'd say a loose is around $8-12 whereas a complete would fetch you $10-20 and a sealed $15-23, maybe more if you get the right person. Now I'm sure others will come in and say my prices may be off, well it's what I feel it should be going for and a general market demand price in my area. Everything is worth different amounts in other states, countries, and so forth. On-line auctions just bring everything together and creates a world market so you would make anywhere between the average selling price and higher.

There is no magic formula. Its entirely on a buyer by buyer, title by title, case by case basis. You're right though that the better/more desirable the game the more of a premium there will be for a sealed. A mario kart is worth a good 40 bucks anyways assuming its a million seller.
Sounds about right to me. Though I think that Bronty is a little closer on the sealed price.Originally Posted by cyberfluxor
