    Default WTB: SNES repro

I was wondering if any1 here have the skills to make a SNES repro. There is 1 japanese RPG game (Ganpuru - Gunman's Proof) i would like to have. Some fans made a translation patch so its playable

Is it possible to make one of these? How much will it cost?

There's a lot of desire for these but no one wants to touch them.

NESreproductions.com will not do it. I have sent numerous emails to him. He recommend you to use a copier and the only regularly available one that is compatible with SF chip games is from Totek and the GamdDoctor SF7. From my research the only other one that works with the FX chip is the Super Wildcard DX2 which isn't easy to pic up.

There was a guy trying to offer a service a month ago to do just this but basicly he got booed off by nah-sayers. Here's the link to the thread. Link The only thing is that he's new to the site and doen't have a feedback thread, so you deal with him at your own risk. My advice is that, if you deal with him don't give him anything that you can't afford to lose.

I want some repros my self but have set my mind that if an established DP member will not do it than I will do it myself. There is a tutorial on how to make your own here. The only thing that you have to figure out is what board to use for which Rom. Then the hard part is to learn how to solder. I'm still learning about everything so I'm about halfway to where I need to be.

I forgot that the guy at the tutorial site says that he will not do it for anyone but he will answer any questions about performing a cart repro. His email is stated on that site but its sufamiheinz@gmx.de though I have never emailed him.

I bought two carts off the guy and was very pleased. I got the Star Fox 2 cart he had for sale and I got him to make me a cart of F-Zero 2 (which was only available for some download thingie in Japan.) I'd been looking for a way to play F-Zero 2 on real SNES hardwrae for a while now and I just couldn't resist Star Fox 2.

Kind of pricey, but as you see that it's not easy to get these games on cart so you're basically at the mercy of the person doing the work.
Thanks for indulging my gaming habit when I was young, Dad. You were the best. I miss you. ~David Barnes 1926-2007~

I sent a pm with a price to you. Please don't be passing around that price. That's an "I want to test this game on a cart too" price. I'm really hoping that you want to put some time into playing the game, because the game will most likely turn on no matter what...

I'm starting to make snes repros. I'll start a post about a few of them withing the next few weeks. Prices will vary because the prices do vary a lot more than the nes ones. The eproms are larger and much more expensive (It can be harder to find the eproms less than $10 a pop). Secret of mana 2 for example requires 4 eproms, another chip, almost 40 wires, and a lot more work than a nes repro!

I can vouch that he does great work. I got a cart done last year. It took a little over a month, but it was well worth the wait.

I couldn't find anyone who would do snes repros for a price that I could afford so I decided to try my luck at making them. I just received the Eprom programmer today and have 4 Eproms on their way. I can get Eproms for just under $5 each. If someone needs a source of Eproms and can make me some carts.... maybe we can work something out. My 4 Eproms cost me $19.99 shipped. But the more I buy the cheaper they are. Much better than the 5 GBP I've seen them for.

Are you talking about 27C080's or 27C801's?

Those two are equivalent parts. I'm not sure if it matters as far as reliability and quality are concerned.

Yes, I know they're the same part. They're the part that I use and I'm confirming that coreycorey2000 is finding this part on the cheap.

edit: the difference isn't one of quality but one of different companies labeling them differently.

They are 27c801's. I'm not sure if this source has unlimited amounts. But they told me I could keep their email on file incase I decide I want some more. So I should be able to get some more.

So...hmmm..who should I have a PM conversation with if I want a Seiken Densetsu 3 and Tales of Phantasia SNES repro? I know nothing of soldering and the like, and I have read that it would be pricey, but I think they would be worth it Hell, I'd also want Star Ocean, but I know that one's impossible cause of the extra chip....

Like the above poster, I would be interested in buying a Seiken Denetsu 3 repro in English.

I actually own the original super famicom game, but I don't know Japanese, so I never got into it.

I would try my above recommendation:

    necrosaro420 Digital Press PM LINK

Give him a try, I think his work is top notch.
