    Default Import Saturn questions...

I just got one and it didn't come with any controllers or any cables. I'm pretty sure that it is an import because it's white. What do I need to get in order to get it to work? I really know nothing about the system so any info anyone can give me would be great.
    Thanks

You'll need a video cable and power cable at minimum. A couple of controllers wouldn't hurt either. USA controllers work fine. You'll also need an import converter if you want to play USA games on it. Otherwise, you are stuck with Japan only games.

    Default Import Saturn

Basically you'll need what was allready said. You can get these items on ebay for under $10 shipped each. The controllers make a big difference in my opinion so I would highly recommend the MK-80116 or the HSS-0101 basically the same controller but different regions. This is easily the best controller ever made so it's worth the money to get one.

Good news is, if you like SHMUPS or Shooters as they are called you have the ultimate gaming machine. The Saturn JAP games (which are what you can play without any adapters) are EXCELLENT. There are at least 15+ incredible shooters for the saturn. If you are wanting to play NTSC games or PAL games get the Action Replay 4 in 1 it is what I have used for years and it still works perfect. (Has cheat codes, import enabler, save game backup, and extra RAM for games that require it) You can expect to pay about $25 for one of those.

Here's a few games worth looking into:

    JAP
    Dodonpachi
    Strikers 1945
    Strikers 1945 II
    Game Tengoku
    Battle Garegga
    Soukyugurentai Otokuyo
    Sexy Parodius
    Darius Gaiden
    Cotton Boomerang

    US
    World Series Baseball 98
    NiGHTS into Dreams
    Guardian Heroes
    Galactic Attack
    Dragon Force

There are many others but those are my favorite. Have fun! The Saturn is still my favorite console to this day..I play it more then any other system.

Do the cables have to be imports also or will US ones work? Also are there any other systems that I could use the cables from and still have it work?

US cables should do fine. The power cables; not sure. I'm not familiar with US/Canadian outlets.

The power cable is the same for US and Japan. If it's a model 2 Saturn (circular reset/power buttons), then it's also the same as the power cable for PSX/PS2 and Dreamcast. The a/v hookups are also the same for US and Japan.

The same way as already mentioned for playing US games on a JPN Saturn. The best converter is the PAR 4 in 1 cart.
