Got some good stuff today, all at one garage sale:

Atari 7800 w/ 2 Pro-line joysticks, but sadly no AC adaptor...I had to solder my own to it and it worked great

Odyssey 2 (version with the removable controllers)

Phantasy Star II complete except for the hint book

    Quest for the Rings complete

    Virtual Boy with AC Adapter

D, Bug Too, Hi-Octane, and The Horde for Saturn along with a memory cart plus

    20 bucks for everything

Gather 'round children, and hear ye a tale, of Josh and Ulticron's quest for cheap sales...

Yeah, anyway, Ulticron came down to Georgia for the weekend a couple of weeks ago, and we did the usual rampage, and I found a gem I'd been questing for for quite some time. Now, PICS!

    Gameboy Color banner (FREE)
    Charmander clock - 50cents
NP Pokemon XD Guide - $3
    NP Mario & Luigi Guide - $3
Ulticron gave me a Gameboy Color banner he found while cleaning out his junk room. We took a wild trip down to Macon's Smiley's Flea Market, where the first things I found were the NP guides for three bucks each. Not a bad deal.

Gamecube Kiosk Disc #23 - Trade from PookNinja
Gamecube Kiosk Disc #32 - Trade from PookNinja
    Rogue Squadron (Complete) - $15
    City Connection - $4
    Monster Party - $4
The kiosks discs came during his visit, and we found the NES titles and Rogue Squadron at various dirt malls. Of course, the really big gem came at a chance EB Games.

We went to the mall in Macon and made our way to the back wall. Ulticron went toward the DS games, while I decided to check out the used GBA case that they had propped in the middle of the floor. I scanned through, finding nothing special until on the bottom shelf I found something that made my heart stop. Leaping to my feet, I started making gestures for Cron to come and look (he stated later I looked really freaked out.)

The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap DEMO - $26
It was marked the same as the other games, and was sitting right next to the legit version of the game. They hadn't even bothered to mark out the "NOT FOR RESALE" with a sharpie like they usually do. I got Cron to guard it for me, while I went to wait in line to get the damn EB cashier to get the game out of the case. Of course, it was taking so long, Cron actually managed to snag another clerk who was helping a customer to open the case for him.
But MAN it was so awesome to finally find this version. As you can see, I now have all three variations of The Minish Cap *L*
Ulticron found some good stuff too, including some transformer figure he was really psyched about (Fort Maximus or something) at Goodwill for next to nothing.

And now the finds from today's dirt mall trip... I was mostly shopping for furniture for my apartment, but as you could probably guess, I was drawn to some game stuff as well.

    N64 case - $5
    Snowboard Kids 2 - $6
    Sonic Game thingie - $1

That is the third Full Throttle box variant I've seen. There's the collector's edition, and a standard one, and your own which has that Creative Labs logo on the front.

Does the disc only say "Full Throttle", or is it different? I have a CD variant that has Full Throttle on the left side, and it says it has a Dark Forces demo on the right side.

(I like to look at PC game variants. )

This one is a Limited Edition (the oval shape is the sticker indicating that)

It has a strat guide on the inside which is about 225 pages.

The CD just says Full Throttle on it.

The car boot sale was packed today. There must have been around 200-300 people selling stuff. But that didn't mean there was a lot of game stuff.

The £4-a-game man was there. He wanted £25 for a loose NES with skidmarks all over it, like someone had been kicking it around. He also wanted £25 each for a Saturn, Dreamcast, Mega Drive and PS1. What a rip off. He clearly isn't "selling them for someone else".

After two and a half hours of walking around, all I found was an N64 controller for £1, a little Sonic figure for 20p, and Tomb Raider Legends for the Xbox for £5. So, it wasn't a complete waste because Tomb Raider was a steal.

I'm off to another one in an hour.

Edit: All I got at the other one was Chuck Rock for the Game Gear for 50p. So with the entry fee it was £1. Not too bad but a bit "meh".

There was someone with an N64 game I only sort of wanted but it had chewing gum and writing all over it. He wanted £4 for just the cartridge. I turned my nose up at it and he offered £3, but I left it.

There was also someone selling loads of modern games. Nothing really grabbed me, though. They wanted £20 for a PS1 and £25 for a loose Pokemon N64.

AAFES currently has a 75% off sale on all console games priced $20 and below. Since Shadow of the Colossus just got Greatest Hits'd, non-GH copies ring up for $20...so 75% off of that = $$$$

I've bought quite a few games in the last month since they started the promotion and sadly my PS2 and Xbox collections have grown far more rapidly than I had anticipated. I'm completely out of shelf space for games and I think I'm going to have to throw my Gamecube games in boxes in the garage if I intend to display my PS2/Xbox stuff

Some decent stuff for the week. Once again, more boxed and/or complete NES games. I've gone from 0 boxed and/or complete NES titles to over 50 in just over a month

    Friday, 08/04/2006:

Some Gamestop purchases here. My only goal was to finally get a copy of that shipping delayed GBA RPG, Summon Night: Swordcraft Story ($29.99, a great game BTW for you dungeon crawler and/or Tales of Phantasia battle system lovers). However, I knew I'd leave with more after scanning over the used games. I found Ridge Racer Type 4 ($7 something after 10% off) and The Bombing Islands ($1ish after 10% off).

    Sunday, 08/06/2006

All of this stuff came from three different vendors at the flea market I stopped at today.

The King of Fighters 95 (PS1, complete): $4
ToeJam & Earl (Genesis, loose): $1
    Animaniacs (Genesis, complete): $4
    Dragon Warrior (NES, complete): $4
Rad Racer II (NES, complete): $4
    Pipe Dream (NES, complete): $4
    Trojan (NES, boxed): $4
    Fester's Quest (NES, boxed): $4
    Freedom Force (NES, complete): $4

Sunsoft never lies! They sure were telling the truth when they printed on the box/cart label that Freedom Force is the best NES Zapper Gun game! Now all I truly need from Sunsofts NES releases is Super Spy Hunter, which is an absolute amazing game.

$15 for the generic cold air intake with filter... I needed this for a project of mine and it sells for $40 at the auto parts store

$5 for Doom 3... I have the game, but it's a borrowed copy and is glitchy as hell. Now I can play it, and it was mint complete.

$3 for a black CD-ROM drive. My server takes 8 CD-ROM drives, and I only have 3 in there right now. And it was black so it matches!

$2 for Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde for NES... common, needed it

$3 for Road Runner for NES... common, needed it

$2 for Alpha Misson for NES... common, needed it

$2 for a random wireless controller... never saw this one before. Lady refused to take a dollar for it

    Dude!

I was about to ask about that second cart! I saw it mentioned on an old Nintendo Power magazine off that Retromags torrent, and it said it was used on some sort of competition between a US and a Japanese player. I'd never heard of it until now. Sweet deal.
