    Default Weird Xbox controller problem

I've got a controller S that seems to not work properly in Top Spin's career mode. The cursor always moves to the left end of the screen without me touching the analog stick or d-pad. I'm pretty sure its a controller issue but then again i've never had any other issues with this same controller on any other games. Any ideas?

Clean as in the underneath of the analog? I'll try that.

Ignore what he said, it's incorrect information. However, I myself do not know how to resolve your problem.

Yeah, david's right, that doesn't make any sense.

In order to 'clean under the analog stick' you'd have to desolder the thing.

As for the problem, the dead zone in an xbox analog stick is controlled by the firmware in the controller itself. For some reason some games seem more sensitive (or perhaps overide the controller's setting). Try rotating both joysticks clockwise a few times, then counterclockwise a few times. That should re-center the dead zone. If that doesn't work, the controller is toast.

You could replace the worn out analog stick, but it's not really worth the effort.

Ok that makes perfect sense. It has to be that Top Spin's overriding the settings somehow. I'll just use my spare controller to play this game then.

    Cheers guys!

I have this same problem, games (characters) wander to the left when i first use the controller after its been sitting around inbetween uses.

Usually rotating the control stick a bit makes the problem go away.

Possibility is infinity! You must be satisfied!

Is there some button combination that recenters the analog sticks for XBox controllers? I know there's one hardcoded into the GameCube controller routine but not sure about other systems.

There's no button combo, but if you rotate the sticks around a few times, the firmware tries to recalibrate the dead zone.
