Default How high a ps 3 will go on ebay do to shortages and delays?

I decided to redo this poll with me creating this one with me adding the more then $4,000.00! option for those who think it could even more. It is possible it could happen.

With the shortages or delays of the ps 3, there will ps 3 will be on ebay, once they got them. I wouldn't be shock if any of these ps 3 ebay auctions make it on the Everything ebay forum.

How high will a ps 3 go on ebay?

I know, I wouldn't be getting a ps 3 in 2 years at least, so i wouldn't have to deal with this madness.

I'll guess 2500 for the first month or two.

I don't think the supply shortages are going to be shortlived also. I find it amusing that sony is saying that although launch quantities have been slashed, launch window quantities remained unchanged.

What a load of BS.If you've ever worked on a medium or large project (let alone one of ps3 magnitude) you'll know how impossible it is to catch up once you fall behind. They're in dreamland if they think they're still going to deliver the same amount of units by the end of their fiscal year. Then again, I'm sure that its all just damage control for their investor relations, anyway. Expect another statement in four or five months admitting they've downgraded their fiscal year estimate

Well, first of all, the price for a PS3 on Ebay is going to fluctuate wildly, depending on the time it's listed. I know this, cause I dealt with it with the 360. The highest prices the 360 went for, was on the actual day of launch. There were many 360's going for well over 1 grand on the actual launch day, but a few days later things had calmed down some, and they were going for $750 and $800. Once the initial hype wears down, then things come back to early slightly as people think the will find one in a store at some point. And then right before Xmas you get another spike, and then once Xmas goes by, it calms back down again.

As for what price the PS3 will be hitting, my guess is on launch day you will see PS3's going for nearly 2 grand, and more than 2 grand. But I'm guessing a few days later, the price will be more in the $1100 range or so. Then in early December, it will probably be around $975 or a grand each, and then just before Xmas it will bump back up to around $1475. After New Years, it will probably be selling for around $850 and it should maintain $850, $900 till some real stock actually starts hitting stores. I'm talking about the HDMI, 60 gig HDD model of course.

    HDMI, 60 GIG model:

    day before launch = $950 - $1480
    launch day = $1450 - $2275
    1st 3 days after launch = $1275 - $1650
    Black Friday on Ebay = $1485 - $2050
very late Nov and Early Dec = $950 - $1350
Last chance to get shipped before Xmas = $1100 - $1425
    After Xmas = $950 - $1250
    After New Years = $890 - $1050
final trading range before stores actually have regular stock = $780 - $940 (Jan 97 thru late April 97)

Of course, these are just educated guesses on my part. But looking at the predictions above, If I had an extra one to well, the best time would be on the actual launch day. Second best day would be Black Friday. There will certainly be PS3 auctions that go higher than $2275, but I'm guessing those will be bundles, and not just the HDMI unit by itself.
