    Default Ridge Racers 2

Alright my review of Ridge Racers 2:
The game is basically the same as Ridge Racers 1 but expanded with different tracks, more songs (I dunno if there are more cars since I haven't started to unlock them yet). The difference between RR1 and RR2 is that in RR2 instead of calling it Single Race, it is now called Arcade. If you own RR1 then you may be disappointed that there is nothing revolutionary or extra features in this game. I really wanted to like this game, but this is Ridge Racers 1.5 :/

I'm still excited for this one, because I've spent a lot of time on the original Ridge Racers. But honestly, what sort of major changes were you expecting to see? Even Ridge Racer 6 isn't too different other than better graphics and different tracks/cars. I would like to see online racing implemented, but I don't think that's the case.

Just remember, just 11 years ago we had the original PS1 Ridge Racer with all of one track, and we were happy about it!

I'm a huge Ridge Racer fan and am looking forward to this release. I still say Ridge Racer is the best racing game and one of the best games overall on the PSP.

    Default Changes

Well for one thing the World Tour per se had the same intro, there are the same tracks as they were in the first RR1, majority of the music is the same too. The cars thus far that I have unlocked are the same. The only difference I have seen thus far is a few extra tracks. It's like the difference between Ridge Racer and Ridge Racer Revolution. What I am saying is that this game doesn't justify it being bought if you have the first RR. Now if you don't have RR then sure this is a purchase. I was expecting a new game i.e. new tracks that are not from previous RR games, kinda like the upgrade from Ridge Racer Revolution to Rage Racer or Ridge Racer Type R 4. If you do get the game, I would like to hear what you think of it.

    I'm slow on this.

Is there a difference between 'Ridge Racer' [which I'm familiar with] and 'Ridge Racers'? Are they a different series?

The Japanese title is "Ridge Racers", while they dropped the "s" for the US release. Go figure.

So this is basically RR1 with new tracks and music? I can dig that. RR1 was awesome. Are there any new game modes or anything? Does the handling feel adjusted in any way?

I'm also still anxiously awaiting this one. The big thing I wanna know is hows the soundtrack this time around? I felt they didnt have enough tracks from Revolution on the first one, so Im hoping they added from it this time around...

I only remember owning R4, and from your description, the J names are more or less totally different. Here's the 8 track names I recall in that order.

    Helter Skelter
    Wonderhill
    Edge of the Earth
    Out of Blue

    Phantomile
    Brightest Nite
    Heaven and Hell
    Shootin Hoops
