Pics of some game art I recently did (Okami, Klonoa, FF1)56k

I recently had a craving to do some artwork, OK so I had an assignment in one of my college art classes to create anything based on one thing we love in life. I chose videogames and opted to do some paintings (to make a long story short the professor acused me of having these done prior to taking the class, for the full rant visit my blog http://.pdorr3.livejournal.com). Now it might appear I do drawings and stuff like this all the time, but I never do, infact I cant even recal the las time I did a painting, or a drawing in pastels, I mainly use good old pencil and paper.

The First one I did was Amaterasu from Okami (game ships Nov 19th for PS2):

Second one I did was Black Mage from Final Fantasy 1. Now it might appear that I made a grid and neatly mapped this one out, I tried that but in the end I just free handed the whole thing, hoping for the best.

I decided to do one last one, cute little Klonoa (this is the original PSX version klonoa, not the PS2 version). I just got this brand new pastel set, and wanted to try it out and figured this was a good one to try it on.

Yeah so these are really getting me back into the art mood, and I really plan on doing some more when I got spare time, especialy an ICO painting of the PAL box art (cant wait to finish that one).

I also do not want this to be a buying and selling thread, I made it just for feedback on the pictures, but if anyone is interested on buying any of these (although I love them so much!) just drop me a PM, please do not post anything related to buying these pictures here, as I said this is not intended to be a sale thread.

They look very nice, but your teacher was right on the point that you shouldn't copy someone else's work. While fanart is fun it's not exactly your original creation. Then again it's for a bullshit art appreciation class, and painting to you is a hobby not a career so you should be free to have fun making whatever the hell you want.

And again, good job. I particuarily like the Okami. (:

I remember I had a similar headache once, with an equally worthless class. It was an HTML elective. A beginer's class I was already beyond. Anyway the assignment was to create an animated .gif of some retarded looking clown juggling balls. So I drew my own animated clown juggling balls. Didn't think anything of it, just the sort of over achiever I am. I get a call from the teacher complaining that because I didn't use her ugly clown that she had no way of knowing that I actually made the image myself. I told her I'd left an id tag on the image and if she opened it up with the program we were using she could confirm it herself. She wasn't entirely satisfied by that answer but fuck her. :P

Late to the party, I'm afraid... but these are stunning, PDorr3! "The boy got skillz", as they might say. I can't wait to see your take on ICO (the PAL cover, in particular, is beautiful).
