I'm not "wowed", but console wise it looks "next gen" I guess.
Well, I'm pretty impressed by some of these games. I honestly wasn't very impressed with Sony's E3 showing, but these pics look pretty damn good. I'm very intrigued by the game Africa. Unfortunately, I have no idea what that game is about. I heard they showed a video of the game at the TGS press conference, and it showed a cheetah sprinting across the African plains, and it looked really cool. I wonder if you get to actually be an animal, or what. That game could be very interesting.
Hot Shots Golf, looks really good to me too. I've always liked that series, and this looks like a game that will be very fun, while at the same time being a visual stunner. Fatal Inertia looks pretty cool, I wonder if it could be the new "Wipeout" ? Some of the games were unimpressive though. The newest pics of Metal Gear Solid 4 actually are kinda underwhelming.
Anywho, at least for the people that do sell their kidney's to get this system, they might have a few games that will absolutely knock their socks off in the visuals department. Hopefully the gameplay will be there too, and hopefully these games aren't delayed way into 2007.
Are those in RGB?

If they do really look that good, then I think you can safely say that the PS3 is going to be the graphical powerhouse of this generation. Of course, being the graphical powerhouse means virtually nothing if past history is any indication, in fact, going back in video game history, the most powerful console doesn't win the war 8 out of 10 times.
It all looks pre-rendered to me. I'm skeptical as to these shots being representative of PS3's real-time rendering power. For one, there is no life bars, hud or anything to suggest these are actual gameplay shots. I can't see where the big deal is if it's prerendered...

PC games have looked like that for years.
<Evan_G> i keep my games in an inaccessable crate where i can't play them
Thats another thing.Originally Posted by Evan_G
For years isnt true, but you can get better gfx on PC games of course. The price is much higher tho. To get a top notch gaming PC you must atleast use $2000.Originally Posted by Evan_G
The Final Fantasy screens and possibly that hovercraft shot are pre rendered, the rest looks in-game. Looks sweet anyway
Those animals in "Africa" don't really look all that realistic. They are quite rough around the edges (both Rhino and the Hippos)

I want pictures from games that make me go "DAMN THAT *IS* NEXT GEN!!"Originally Posted by Evan_G
But its nice that massive time and care was spent of doing the face of the FF chick as realistic as possible.
Possibility is infinity! You must be satisfied!

PC GAME "CRYSIS"
The CPU you need to run Crysis on recommended settings costs about the same as the whole PS3 so its not really relevant to compare these. This thread is about PS3 games tho, not PC
"CRYSIS" = WOW
They look good. I will admit that.
Nice graphics. Whoopitydoo.

Maybe not the coolest game hehe, but it sure looks good!
Bah, linking protection.
Those are some good looking hippos.
The "games" don't look gorgeous -- the screenshots do. Since I saw the 64 Marios walking around and then experienced actual games on the N64, I'm very mistrustful.
BUT after having the 360 for 4months now I'm sure about one thing: the lamento about the lack of "next gen" in the graphics department is utter nonsense. The 360 can produce graphics two classes better than the most recent old "gen," and so will the PS3.
Games look fantastic, let's hope they will play as they look.
BTW, it looks Hot Shots Golf won't be ready for launch, and this goes for a lot of other titles. Ridge Racer 7, however, is already completed and will be a launch title for sure.
