FYI:
Target has begun to sell Wii items.
At two of my local Target stores, they have Wii related items for sale:
bag, controller sleeves, dogtags, stand, Wii Target gift card

I was tempted to get a gift card just because they are cool. They light up with a blue LED all around the edges when you press the power button on the front.
All of the other stuff is too expensive.
I think the Componet Cables are online order only.
You should pick up those gift cards. Just check out the ebay autions on those things!Originally Posted by klausien

Say what? These had better not be like the gamecube's component cables. I want to be playing the Nintendo Wii on HDTV through component when I get it this holiday season.Originally Posted by Joker T
How much are the Official component cables?
Yep, the component cable is online only, but this time they're not limited to nintendo.com. Apparently they'll be for sale at bestbuy.com, gamestop.com and ebgames.com as well (but they're not available for preorder anywhere yet). Retail price will be $29.99.Originally Posted by Slate

I wish they'd just sell the cables in-store, but at least they'll be more available this time around. I got lucky and managed to get my Gamecube component cable when Nintendo had a small restock of them about a year ago. I'm really hoping they'll be available for preorder before the launch date so I won't have to use the AV cable.
Hillary is gonna have a field day with it.Originally Posted by theshizzle3000

Now, that I think of it. The displays and items were the same ones that I saw in the Wii pics that were posted on here a couple of weeks ago. Same cardboard display. I tried to search for it, but no luck.
We noticed the stuff about a week ago. We bought one of the controller cover sets (set of 3) (didn't need to spend 50 bucks on 6 Wii covers). They also had the dog tag thing, 'collectors' box with magnets and 2 different sets of covers. The stuff isn't made by Nintendo but is officially licensed.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

If I'm not mistaken, there will be 3rd party component cables available in stores at launch, but unfortunately they will cost $59.99 or $69.99 or something like that if you can freaking believe that. I'm also a little dissapointed by the fact that we have to order the official Nintendo component cable online, it's almost like they don't want people to be able to play in 480p.
Hopefully, we will be able to order those cables pretty soon, and we can receive them pretty fast, so that on the actual launch day, we can be playing Wii Sports in all it's 16:9 480p glory, lol.
