Default Intellivision games: Which are PAL-only or NTSC-only?

Hi folks. I think the Intellivision games list on the Blue Sky Rangers website should be complete?

But they don't mention in their list WHERE the games were released. Which games are NTSC-only? And which games are PAL-only (if any)?

Is there a list on the web? Or can anyone help me here?

    Thanks!

I think Tutankham and Super Cobra are the only PAL-only Intellivision releases. I don't know which are NTSC-only.

Actually, I'm 90% sure my copy of Mouse Trap is SECAM. The box/manual are in French, with a later added insert written in Swedish.

French is SECAM? I thought only South America and some Asian countries were SECAM...

    Huh! France is SECAM.

Looks like more than 1/2 of the world is Secam, looking at that chart, thanks to Russia.

Being a resident of France (Secam) as well as Germany (PAL-B) (with a British TV/VCR (PAL-I)), you wouldn't believe the fun I have had with compatibility issues.

This is correct, both games are Euro-Only releases. The Intellivision, however, is region independant like the Jaguar. All carts will work in each other's regions without issue.

Seems strange that there aren't any more that are exclusive outside of the states but I guess it's a good thing. Why the heck did PB not release those in the US anyone's guess.

I'm astonished that there ARE PAL-only releases for the Intellivision. I always thought that all Inty Games are regionfree.

I think you're right. As far as U.S./NTSC-only releases, or whatever you want to call them, I believe the Atarisoft releases (Centipede & Defender) fall into that category. I also don't think any of the INTV games (Diner, Thin Ice, etc.) were released in Europe/PAL.

One interesting thing about European/PAL Intellivision games is that certain games released by Coleco in the U.S. (Carnival, Donkey Kong, Mouse Trap & Venture) don't work on the Intelliviison II console, but the European versions of those games (released by CBS Electronics) are compatible.

Thanks for the info so far guys.

The reason why I ask regarding PAL/NTSC: I want all the games that were released as PAL versions in PAL All the others in NTSC then

I am pretty sure that all the games from those companies are NTSC-only:

    - Intv Corp
    - Dextell
    - Interphase

My Donkey Kong Jr. cartridge says SECAM only and has French labels. Which is rather odd, considering that colour system should not be of interest to an Intellivision programmer.

Try sticking a wet fork in the outlet. If you live, its a 110, if you dont, it was a 220.

    Default No format

Incompatibility with the Intellivision 2 was a hardware issue, but not a format issue. If the CBS carts of the Coleco games work on an Intellivision 2, it's because CBS defeated the 3rd party lockout placed on the Intellivision 2 by Mattel, not unlike (conceptually) that used by Nintendo.

There is no PAL or NTSC or SECAM with respect to the software. If it says it on the package, it's only to relay to the locals that it would work, but it could have had the same exact cart as that sold anywhere else.

For the Intellivision, the accurate way to address this relates to locality of release rather than format. Super Cobra and Tutankham were released in Europe only. CBS games may have been sold in Canada, although I'm not certain.

As far as N. America only, the INTV games were not widely distributed to begin with. I think some were sold in stores, although I'm not entirely sure. I suspect alot were sold by mail order. Oh fervent Intellivision fans from back in the day. I solute you!
