Man, I can't wait until Monday for this game to come out. Yoshi's Island 1 is definitely up there in my top games of all time, and this looks to be as good.
With this, Elite Beat Agents, and FF3, my wallet's going to take a pounding!

I'm looking foward to this on too, but I'm waiting for reviews before I buy.
It has a lot to live up to, the original was awesome, and there are already a lot of great platformers on the system. I'm sure it will be good, but it also has the potential to suck if it's not as great as other things on the system.
what? I didn't even know they were coming out with a new Yoshi's Island.
Damnit damnit damnit...
There are just too many good games out there. I don't have enough time to play all of these!
Between Final Fantasy V on GBA and Final Fantasy III and Yoshi's Island on DS, and the Wii, this is going to be one hell of a Christmas! :P

Please tell me it doesn't have that horrible noise when you lose baby Mario. I loved the first one - but I had to play it with the sound off.
That crying sound was soooo annoying, but i do consider it part of the experience. Because i hate the sound so much, it makes me want to play better and concentrate more so i dont have to hear it!
I can't wait! I hope it doesn't suck. I'd hate for it to suck.
Bad news: it's by the same team that made the horrible, horrible Yoshi's Gravitation game.
Good news: pre-release play impressions have been very, very favourable. Maybe they've got THIS Yoshi game right
After what, 7-8 games, it looks like Artoon may have finally made a high quality game.
BTW, it still amazes me that their previous works have been mediocre or worse since they are headed by some very talented ex-Sega employees.
Personally? I FUCKING HATE all the Yoshiiiiiii! and Hrmmmmmmmmmmmwah! sounds they added. They're stupid and they only made me hate the game.Originally Posted by stuffedmonkey

I would agree with you Kitsune Sniper, but that's not the case. KoF EX2: Howling Blood was developed by Sun-Tec, and published by Marvelous in Japan.
This game has been one of my most anticipated late 2006 releases. I'll be picking it up sometime this week.
I got my hands on a review copy of both this and Elite Beat Agents, and I am grateful for that....because that means I didn't waste my money on them.
In my opinion, neither of these games were fun. Having played just about every rhythm and groove game released in the US, Elite Beat Agents ranked towards the bottom as just plain bland.
Yoshi's Island was a chore. Complete this obvious task change babies, complete this obvious task, change back, complete this task, change back AGAIN....just...bleh. I couldn't even bring myself to complete the second level....just too damn repetative and tedious.
In all fairness, I didn't really get into the original all that much either.
Based upon your review of Elite Beat Agents, I'm buying Yoshi's Island first thing this week.Originally Posted by sisko

I loved Ouendan and I really like EBA as well (though the J-pop cheesiness is really the difference here). My advice is really to try them out and see for yourself. Just about everyone I know who loved Ouendan, loves EBA.
I really did like the *style* of EBA, like the storylines and strike checkpoints etc etc. Just the gameplay was very lacking and boring. I put it up par with Donkey Konga and Unison (both sucked).Originally Posted by Mayhem
Matter of opinion then I guess... those peeps I know who are heavy into that sort of game lapped up Ouendan totally.
Just picked this up, and although I've only beaten two levels so far, I think it's safe to say that it will be a very good game. I'll decide if it's better than the original when I beat it. Minigames =
I got this for Christmas. Let's see....
I like the level design. For the most part. It gets really hard in world 5. And I'm on 5-7. "Superhard Acrobatics". God, who the hell designed this level? WTF? And the ones before it? WTF? Geeze! It was easy as pie for a long time. Then WHOOSH! The difficulty jumps.
The music sucks. To put it bluntly. Sucks. It sucks bluntly sucks. Yeah. It sucks. WTF? Who the hell did this music? Why does it suck? Who sucks so much they thought it was good? It SUCKS! They could have done better had they just ripped the original music directly from the original game and used that.
The graphics are not the same. It's sad. The original had some awesome art. It was like a kid drew it. Now it's too plain. It lost that cool look. The 3D rotating world map at the beginning looks AWESOME. It sets you up to be blown away. Then you see the actual graphics and it's like "Meh." Meh.
Overall, it's only half a game the original was. Music sucks. Graphics meh. Level design awesome. Difficulty "Mario Sunshine" level. YIDS = 1/2 YI.
Sucky sucky music. It's so.. boring.
