Vegas Convoy Update

Just thought I'd give everyone an update...

Joe and Scott left my house yesterday (Monday) about 3pm. It took a while to get everything all loaded and strapped in. Total count was 9 BIG arcade machines and around 40 boxes!

Got a call from Joe this morning around 9:45 EST and he said they were just getting to the end of Ohio. They better pick up the pace today.

So, if you see a 17' Uhaul truck with a CGE banner on it on Hwy 80, that's probably them. Please, no hijacking of the goodies though.

Gotta say, there's no better two sucke... er friends in the world.

I'll post any more updates I get before I leave Weds. morning.

Just a quick update...

The U-Haul broke-down this afternoon in central Illinois. The folks at U-Haul sent out a repairman who arrived four hours later and they're back on the road again. I think the truck we got is like a 1968 model with 1.5 million miles on it!

So to clarify things a bit...if you see two guys PUSHING a 17' truck with a CGE banner on the side of it, wave as you drive by because that's Joe and Scott.

I'm laughing my ass off, but not because of the guys' misfortune! It's just that goofy crap like that just HAD to happen on a roadtrip of this nature! Now that it's out of the way, it should be smooth sailing from here on out.

Last update...

John and I are heading out to Vegas in the morning. Just popped-in for a quick post before I leave.

The truck was repaired and they made it as far as Des Moines, Iowa before stopping for the night. They'll be back on the road again early in the morning.

Ummm... Yeah, I was kinda supposed to go to CGE and had promised Joe a few drinks along with owing some to Nate.

Well, umm, I can't go. Sigh. Can Sean or John pass the word along to Joe if he doesn't read this himself? (although I'm sure a few birdies may have already informed him) I have training in Arizona that starts this weekend and my time frame to drive to Las Vegas and back and get to the Airport and everything isn't working out real well. I saw it coming, but I was holding out for at least a day at CGE. But it is not to be.

*Saves up pennies and starts the countdown for next year*

Ah hell, was looking forward to meeting ya. We'll be sure to get lots of pictures. I'm planning on also videotaping the weekend (a few of the song sets, the cart releases, some seminars, general walkthroughs, the museum, the Dig Dug Drop, etc) and will try to make copies for those who want 'em. (Did the same last year too.)
