Default D'agh, I need a replacement RF adapter for my JVC X'EYE. Any options?

I can't find my old RF adapter. I tried some newer thing that actually fit the slot but it didn't work at all.

Unfortunately, composite cables aren't an option (explained in post #3).

Two jacks go into the white and yellow slots, one goes in-between. Am I boned? Thanks--

Found one out of stock, but in stock it was $42.51. Ew.

Have you tried using an RF adapter from a model 2 Genesis? I could be wrong, but I think it'll work. If I get a chance tonight, I'll check on my X'eye. BTW, are you unable to use composite cables?

Composite cables would be great, but I'm trying to record game footage to my PC and the audio/video is coming out perfect on the TV but all screwed up on the PC. The video is limited to black, gray, and blue colors and only the right channel works. I've messed with the cables so much that I can only determine that composite cables just won't work for this project.

I'll look for a Model 2 RF adapter now. Thanks

They make things to convert composite to rf. I have one that is like a AV switch that can have three composite inputs hooked up, outputting any of them as RF.

You should be able to get something to do the job for under $10 at places like EB.

I guess my switchbox could use an upgrade. I have no idea how old it is. A newer one I saw that isn't mine does have the RF-out slot. I'll check on that later today. Thanks!

What sort of video cap card do you have? Even the horrible one I got off eBay can capture console video from composite.

I Agree, buy a new capture card and your problem is solved.

I think a model 1001 Playstation RF may work with the X'eye though I cant confirm this. I use a Genesis model 2 A/V cable for my X'eye.

    edit:
I just looked at your pic and you have S-video hook up!?!?!? How did you get that? and how do Genesis games look?

My hand-me-down low-end Hauppauge PVR-150 can capture from every other console I own that's been tested so far without a single problem. I have no need to upgrade.

I wouldn't know about the S-video, I've never used it.

They have s-video only in Wondermega, not in later X'eye versions unless modded.

Yeah and S-Video is better than composite, hands down.

I have one of those RF things (from a PSX). If you want it, i'm willing to part with it.

Possibility is infinity! You must be satisfied!

Bought the Model 2 cable, but no dice on output to the PC. Same result. I think the X'EYE just has some sort of weird copy protection (for a 1993-94 console!?)

I only wanted to record some things from Lunar: Eternal Blue later in the game. Sucks that I'm only going to be able to get early footage now using the Kega Fusion emulator and my game CD.

Actually, I wouldn't bother looking for a branded cable. Here is what I would get:

1.) RCA cord, like this: link (obviously a bit long...I'm sure you can find these very cheaply)

2.) Y-splitter. The one I have has two female RCA connectors and an audio jack; this one would also work: Two male RCA to one male audio

3.) S-Video cable. This one is expensive; I was lucky and found one in the box for an old VCR.

What you do is plug the RCA cord into the system, and same with the S-Video. Then plug the splitter cord into the RCA cord, and then plug that into your Line In or Microphone imput (or maybe the PVR-150 card, depending on what works for you). If you went with the Y-splitter I linked, then you would just plug that right into the console. The other kind can be found at Radio Shack for about $4.

I hadn't thought of plugging the S-Video and RCA cables in at the same time. I will do that when I get home. Thanks

Well, that pictured X'Eye has S-video, but North American X'Eyes do not have S-Video. That X'Eye pictured does because it is my X'Eye, and the pic is of a modded one on my site.

Seems to me that you have a problem with your Computer video input, not your X'Eye.

Possible, but it takes Playstation 1, Playstation 2, Gamecube, Saturn, and DVD players just fine. No real loss.

Hmm. Unless your actual X'Eye has the S-video output like the one in that picture, then forget that part - unless you want to send yours into OSG to get it fixed up, which wouldn't be an entirely terrible idea

I bought an USB Adaptec Gamebridge so that I could play and record games on my LCD. All systems work perfectly EXCEPT for that X'EYE. I think that system is just wonked the hell out.

The last alternative I can think of that may or may not work is to hook it up to my old VCR, then I'll just record to the PC off of the VCR.
