Be sure to play Bully. "Have fun, Jimmy!"
i have about 10 or so ps2 games but no ps2 lol, never had one! i too want one, was kinda wishing someone would get me one for xmas but no one did =[
i have a ps1 with over 100 games though =D
I bought a PS2 about a year and a half ago and there are so many good games out there for it and most of the library is $20 or less now. If you can't find a few good games for the PS2 you are not looking very hard. I still have 10 sitting waiting for me to play. There are many good threads about good PS2 on this board.
Also having a PS2 has slowed me jumping into the Wii/360/PS3 fray.
Outside of the RPGs for the PS1 you might not find that many games that compete with the PS2. For example I tested Gran Tursimo 1&2 last night and it is not anywhere as good as GT4. Also not having analog support hurts some of the PS1 games but over all you should enjoy the system.
DOn't play the great games first, it ruins all the rest...
Welcome to the PlayStation world!
Get those PS1 games you want as soon as possible... it's getting harder and harder to find them complete and in good shape outside of ebay.
I currently own 85 PS2 games and have a huge backlog. I currently own 54 PS1 games and fortunately have most of the games I want there.
Also, there's a great thread on PS2 recommendations here.
Get Katamari Damacy 1 and 2.
Thanks for the input!
One thing that really bothers me is I had a collection of quite rare UK PS1 games in England. I would have kept them if it werent for the fucking stupid region locking... I can't remember all any of the rarer titles I had except for Exhumed, but one of the others was really good and... rare (you run around with odd laser weapons killing robotic bugs while picking up crystals... if anyone thinks they know.)
How hard is to find a US version of Einhander these days?
I just bought my first PS2 today. I got Mercenaries and Burnout Revenge, but forgot to get a memory card
So far, I'm really satisfied with it. Load times aren't that great, but the games are fun.
BTW, are 100% of PSX games compatible with PS2?
I don't even have one yet, but I do have DrumMania for it (being an ex-drummer).
One day ....
I got one about a month ago and already have around 23 games for it. It is a nice system with many games to choose from and with the good chunk of PS1 games I own it's plenty. There's just too many suggestions to know where to start so check out that link DigitalSpace posted, should help out a lot.
