Hey guys, I have heard of Genesis controllers being modifiied to work on the Vectrex.
Does anyone know how to do this? and what would be the cost for one of these?
If not maybe i can buy a second Vec. controller but ya, good luck![]()

I got my Vec from Sniderman a few years ago. Good deal and it still works! It came with the crappy standard controller and a 6 button 3rd party Genny controller. It doesn't seem to be modded at all. He would know better than I.

Does the Vectrex have a nine-pin port? I remember using my Genny controllers on my 2600 with no mod whatsoever.
Here's a link to do just about anything you might want- adaptor, Genesis Controller, Atari Paddle. Vectrex Controllers
Also, you can buy a Genesis Controller from CGC.
And one last one. Controller Mod
Note that the Genesis controllers are Digital and not Analog which means that they WILL NOT work properly on Hyperchase and some versions of Starhawk.
Oh, and the Vectrex does use a 9 Pin but it has 4 buttons and the joystick as appossed to the 2 buttons for the Atari controllers. You can use an Atari controller on a Vectrex but you can only perform 2 of the 4 functions. I've never shaved down a 9 pin input on a Genesis controller but even if it did fit, I don't think that it would work properly on a Vectrex. Why would there be tutorials on all kinds of mods, if it were that easy?
Thanks for the info guys thats exactly what i was looking for. BIG HUGS :P
any other info please add.

If you like soldering, I'd recommend my fully analog PSX adapter circuit:

You could Mod a 3 Button Genesis Controller or even make a SNES Adapter
