Why don't you guys just print these things out off the Internet or something rather than waiting for Nintendo to release a game for the DS? There's millions of Picross-style puzzles to be found on the Internet.

Still not caring. Also, that DS Fanboy site didn't tell me what my non-DS-loving, penny-pinching, shmup-playing self would like about the game, so I still really don't know what's going on. It's a puzzle game with lines, that's all I know.

But they're not from Nintendo, so they automatically suck.

(Just kidding, though if you look around the internet long enough you'll find someone who says the same thing and isn't. </captain obvious>)

It's not even the first Picross game for the DS. One of the Japanese Sudoku games had a Picross mode. My buddy was playing it all summer...

Hopefully this will be awesome, because all the other DS Picross games I've played were pretty underwhelming (mostly because of really bad interface design).

Because most of us on this board are video gamers and collectors and not so much collectors of internet Picross-style puzzles

At first I thought the poster was kidding. You people are really into this game? What is it? It looks like a virtual lite brite?

Holy crap man.. It's an awesome logic puzzle game where you use clues to draw a picture. It starts out simple then it gets a lot more bigger and detailed as you get better

If you like puzzle games, or even like Sudoku, then you owe it to yourself to try Picross as it is pure crack. Did you every play Mario Picross?

I ordered mine last week and recieved it yesterday.

I solved 11 puzzles and can tell you i already love it.

It is impossible to describe in words. You have to play
    it to fully understand.

IGN has the game listed as a 7/30 release:

Mario's picross is an amazing game. I lost large chunks of my life to that game. I'm glad the DS version is coming here too.

Nice to see that Nintendo decided to bring this to the states.

Agreed. And of course Picross DS is the same pedigree. You can download classic puzzles from Mario Picross (the GB & SNES versions) and it even has remixed music. Good stuff

Awhile back I found a copy but knew nothing about it and was very stupid to not buy it. It was gone the following day after investigating what the hell it was. I swear, next time I find it it's mine (unless some crazy guy is selling it for 60 bajillion dollars).

No.. there's no colors in this Picross.

HOWEVER.. there are lots of jap ds ones WITH color (like Oeki Puzzle Battle?) and that is what you're looking for if you want Lite Bright meets minesweeper.
