Default Quick question - Import DS lite and wifi

I know that there is not region code on the DS lites. I was wondering however if there were any issues connecting to the US Nintendo wifi server with a Japanese DS lite using a US game. I know that there are different channel restrictions in Japan for wifi...

I'm seriously thinking of importing the navy DS lite - so I had to ask

I doubt it, I race folks from Japan all the time with the same wifi network. It's all about your wifi setup in your house. It should be the same for a kid from Japan on vacation here int he US, he should be ready to go at any McDonalds or Starbucks. Nintendo promotes gaming online and on the go right?
A navy DS lite? That'll be cool...
From where you are buying it from, ask them, but I highly doubt there is any difference, they are all built the same sans the color of the unit.
I have two basic food groups, fast and frozen.

Pretty sure you're right. Since the internet doesn't change from country to country, connecting to it wouldn't be a problem. Just like I can play Counterstrike with people in Japan =D
The only time I think it'd be a problem is if you were directly connecting two different versions of the same game. I.e., if you wanted to race your friend in Mario Kart, I don't think it would work if you had the Japanese version of the game and they had the American version.
    Navy DSs are sweet, too!

I know the internet dosent change from country to country - but wifi restrictions do. For instance in the US - devices can choose from channels 1-11. I think that Japan only allows a single channel. I just want to know if there is anyone here that imported a DS Lite and played it sucessfully on the US wifi system.

I have owned an enamel blue (whatever the dark blue DS is technically called) DS lite, from Japan, since June of 2006. It works completely fine on the US Nintendo servers.
    Egbert, I miss you...

And my North American DS Lite worked perfectly while in Japan on a local wi-fi network.

I bought my wife both a Candy Pink DS and a Pink DS Lite from Japan - works fine here without issues.
