Default Think Nintendo will put SMS and Saturn games on the Virtual Console?

The SMS came out after Nintendo... They put the Genesis up there, Why not? The Master System has a ton of great games.

I don't know about Saturn - game sizes...

I actually bought my SMS BEFORE I bought an NES, because of the great Sega arcade games. Out Run, Hang On, and Columns must be made available for sure. Great games!

It seems quite possible. The SMS was pretty popular in Europe and Austraila... just like the TG16 was popular in Japan and is on VC worldwide. Games will probably be $3-$4, at least in the US and Japan, judging by the fact that TG16 games are priced lower than SNES games in the US and Gen games are lower than SNES in Japan.

MS maybe but probably not, Saturn doesn't have a decent emulator yet so no.

I wish, but I think they won't. I was wishing for Sega CD games and DUO games as well. But I think they are going for the non-CD format. I would kill to have Sapphire and Dark Wizard on the Wii.

They can't even get emulation of their better systems right... I doubt they'll bother with the Sega CD, Saturn and Master System...

Saturn no unless they got around the memory issue.

Heck hudson has stated no turbocd games for the vc.

So i don't know how, Sega could do the same for saturn titles.

SMS i think that would be a given for the VC.

I wouldn't mind playing games like ps&alex the kid on it.

SMS should already be on there IMO. They're already emulating the hardware with the Genesis emu, the games are small, and it was the #1 console in Europe for 4 years. I could see some SMS downloads becoming quite popular on this side of the pond too, when stuff like Shinobi and Phantasy Star is released. Since it would be so easy to do and it's definitely worthwhile, they'd have to be stupid to not add SMS.

Saturn on the other hand, I don't see happening. It's really hard to emulate.

They would make awesome additions, but I doubt either one will ever be added.

    I'll add my two cents

I imagine we'll see SMS added before too long. It doesn't make sense not to add it. The games will cost the same as the NES ones.

As for CD based games - it'll never happen. Unless Nintendo is going to allow us to use USB hard drives with the Wii, there's nowhere to put them.

I think the Wii hardware is too weak to emulate Saturn games. And then it is the space issue of course.

If it can emulate the n64, it can emulate the Saturn.

I think it all comes down to space.

Apples and oranges. Considering the fact that today's PC's cannot successfully emulate Saturn games, I don't think the little Wii can. Most N64 games have been successfully emulated for a good 5 years now.

I'm sure with professionals working on it, they could get it done.

But this whole issue is moot considering there's nowhere to save the Saturn games

The day Nintendo puts Panzer Dragoon Saga on the VC is the day I buy a Wii.

That.. or when there's enough software I actually want to play.

New forms of audio compression make 32bit era CD games much smaller, don't they? Someone mentioned that with the whole SOTN business. It could be done, but what Sega CD / Turbo CD games would they even add? Sure there's gems but they'd cost extra, take up more space, and most of the VC users wouldn't even know what the hell they were other than maybe Sonic CD.

SMS WOULD be nice though. I'd buy Phantasy Star for 600 points!

Doesn't make sense NOT to put SMS on there (pardon the double negative). SMS emulation is well advanced, and they already have the Gen/MD on there. Plus, well, Wonderboy.

Yeah I'm sure they could compress them, but when you're dealing with only 512 MB of storage, you'd have to compress it a whole lot.

SD cards, I suppose. Or they could sell discs with a handful of games on them. That would be nice. Especially if they'd do like a Dreamcast disc with samba de amigo and stuff on it...

The Saturn had what, three, four CPUs working along each other? There's no way in hell they'll be able to run a game in the Wii with the system's specs.
