    Default Rom Images Question

Yeah, MAME is a slice of heaven, but I can never seem to capture screens that I really to save as images. I see people all over the internet using screenshots from emulation, how do they do that? I don't see a prompt or anything that could let me save a screenshot as an image. How does it work?

I think you just hit F12, and it saves a .png image for you. *note, you can also pause mame by hitting P.

You could even read the readme and find there are even keys that insert virtual quarters and let you actually play the games.

All of the avatars I created for this site were done via MAME emulation. Paused the game with P then captured the screen with F12. Somewhere I remember seeing an emulator that allowed you to "frame forward", I'd really like to see that. It's a pain in the arse hitting P then F12 as quickly as possible to try to capture all of the frames of an animation!

    Solution?

Just leave out the "P" key and whale on the "F12" key as if you were playing Time Pilot. That way you're bound to get everything you need.
