was there ever a RGB cable for SNES that wasnt SCART?

NCSX still sells japanese SFC RGB cables. They look like SCART but are a different pinout. They're handy since they work on an XRGB upscan converter without modification.

The ones NCSX sells are specially manufactured for them for use with the XRGB, I think.
There are no real marketed SNES RGB cables aside from the SCART ones because worldwide there is no common consumer level RGB interface except for SCART. Some people say that this supposed "Japanese RGB" with an SCART-like plug but wired differently was a standard in Japan, but I think it was only ever really used on the XRGB upscan converters and maybe one or two high-end television models. Otherwise, RGB wa sonly used for professional equipment, and even then the interface varied widely.
...word is bondage...
The NCSX cables are indeed made by Nintendo (I bought them). Not sure when they were made but I'm sure it was before the advent of the XRGB series, which is only a few years old.
It's a pain in the ass to get a RGB single off a SNES.
S-Video does the job just fine.
The SNES outputs a wonderful RGB image. Nintendo Japan produced offical RGB cables for the SFC - these look like SCART cables as others have mentioned. Check out Play-Asia, I got three brand new ones from them for US$10 each.

The SNES looks wonderful on my 13" MultiSync 3D monitor.
During my user group meeting tonight (I was doing a presentation on Xploder HDTV (PS2)) I found that the LCD projector we were using, a Canon LV-S1 (which has Composite, S-Video, Component Video, and RGB inputs) also accepts 15Khz RGB. So, if you're looking into large screen setups, you may want to do some research on projection units. Imagine your SNES, in RGB, projected onto a nice large wall. Certainly a lot easier than tracking down a large and heavy CRT unit.
12 inches viewable, lol.
Fighter17- Do a search on Ebay for Sony PVM, you will find them in lots of various sizes. The key is to find one local and not have to pay any shipping. I've got several of them, and didn't pay more than $100 for any of them, and the one I paid $100 for was a Sony PVM-2530 that is in real good condition. It's the best 25 inch 4:3 NTSC display that I've ever used.
ok well i was going to use them on my new LCD tv which does RGB and i have a few computer monitors arround that will work.
what about the RGB cables at the goat store are they a SCART ish cable like the ones you guys are talkin about?
no one ever had a 5 RCA ended cable with Audio L and R and Red Green and Blue?
Did you get that LCD TV in Europe? If not, I doubt it will work with the kind of RGB we are talking about. Remember, tons of displays have inputs that say RGB on the back of them, but 9 times out of 10, it's talking about digital RGB, not analog RGB. And even the ones that do analog RGB, might not sync with 15kHz analog RGB.
So...
Do all of these Sony PVM do the correct sort of analog RGB, or only some models? Also, will they work with analog RGB out of other systems than the SNES?
Negative, negative! We have a Wildcat destabilization of the ship's fusion core!
To bad you can't hack the SNES RGB Cables to Component..That's the setup I have
The vast majority do. Maybe some of the newer ones don't do analog RGB. All of the PVM's that have a 25 pin plug labeled computer, do analog RGB. But there are many PVM's that don't use that 25 pin plug, that also do analog RGB. All the old consoles that are capable of analog RGB, all output 15kHz rgb, so if it works with one, it should work with all.
