Following in Media Play's footsteps.
Hmm...I wonder if these were returned games and they are trying to get rid of them.
My thoughts...
"Great, another place for the hordes to pawn off insert pizza stained (and God knows what else) and badly scratched copies of games that reek of marijuana and ass." Hope the staff has a good stock of latex gloves and maybe a Hazmat Suit. It's been in my life experience that the average mainstream gamer has nasty habbits and doesn't care about taking care of their games... then yet another store might possibly be buying them back for resell? GOD HELP US!
Prices are higher than used games at Gamestop or Gamerush. Halo used for 14.00? You can pick it up for 10!
I have two basic food groups, fast and frozen.
My thoughts?
I see some games I have no interest in owning or playing.
Possibility is infinity! You must be satisfied!
You just can't handle my jawusumness responces. -The Sizz
high prices and crappy selection
Remember when Best Buy sold used games in a few test stores? I have a feeling that the reason that didn't go national is the same reason this will probably fail for CC. Here's hope I'm proven wrong.
On another note, I wonder how their trade-in offers will be...
I loved when BB sold used games. I grabbed FF7 on ps1 for $4 and tons of nes games, usually priced at $2.99 no matter what game it was. I think there is a store near me that still does sell used games, but only current gen stuff, no more genesis, snes and nes games.
I don't think CC has had a decent idea that hasn't been "me-too" in a long time. I'm talking back when they were still putting out ugly black & white circulars, special-ordereing movies and CDs, thinking Divx was the next big thing in home entertainment and still paying commission. Now they're so busy trying to wrap their lips around whatever turd just fell out of Best Buy's ass that they can't be bothered to think for themselves. Best Buy increases emphasis on helping morons with their PCs, Circuit City follows suit with FireDog (an even dumber name...how was that even possible?). Best Buy test markets used games, here comes CC to confirm that this idea sucks for big-box retailers. Best Buy introduces Reward Zone, Circuit City follows suit with Circuit City Rewards. Circuit City, like it or not, is an also-ran. I don't care for one company over the other on any level really, but it's hard to take CC seriously when all they're doing is poorly aping BB's business moves a year or two later.
But then again, what do I know? I do most of my shopping online these days. No nervous warranty sales pitches, lines or ignorant staff to deal with.
