This was from the line of toys that Nintendo produced in the 1970s. This is the original Duck Hunt, before it was made into a video game:

Thanks for the cool video. It's always neat to see how games were handled when they had to resort to electro-mechanical means. I'm assuming though that the game would be simple to master, as it's likely it was a single duck at a time?
Wow, that's really cool! Great review.
Kinda reminds me of that Killer Shark game from Jaws.
That was pretty neat. Made me plug back in the ol' NES system to play my duck hunt and my Operation Wolf.
Does anyone else think Operation Wolf was a good shooter for the NES besides me?
lol, damn thats noisy. Is there some scoreboard or something?
Interesting. Note how the ducks actually resemble the ducks from the video game.
Very cool.
Nice, but should've done a dry run of the audio. Also the narrator (you?) seems about to fall asleep at any minute :P
Thanks for the vid, enjoyed it.
Cool, his site japan-games.com is worth a look too.
hehe yeah, the narrator is me. I did it at 3 AM. While not sober.
The machine is loud. I turned down the audio to a lower volume when I made the video, so it's even louder than that. If you want to see the raw feed click on "video" at the top of this page:

Just be sure to turn your volume down. :P
Wow! Real cool stuff! Thanks for the vid, and as you said in the vid, it's hard to believe it's over 30 years old!
Sweet, I'd be wanting for a while to see what the original Duck Hunt looked like, ever since I saw pictures of the box. Thanks a bunch.
a brand-new 1976 Duck Hunt sold on ebay UK last year for approx GBP 200
I just got one of those on ebay not too long ago. Haven't had a chance to try it out though.
My understanding is that before even this unit was made, Duck Hunt was a gallery game in a converted bowling alley Nintendo owned, along with Hogan's alley and some others.

The moral is, don't **** with Uncle Tim when he's been drinking!
I'm glad they left the dog out of it. That laugh pissed me off.
Gimmie a game, I'll either love it, or pimp-smack it.
That's a darn sweet item, i have seen them b4 and they go for quite some cash. Cool video man, thanks for sharing.
