If its brand new, it should still be under warranty. Why not get it fixed?

well i got it from a friend , dont know where it came from . tried to take it bvack to my local walmart , to try to get at least store credit , but they check serial numbers , and it didnt match any in their nationwide directory . so im pretty much screwed . im just trying to get like 50.00 from it , or a trade . it would be worth it . thanks
