Well of course they don't own one. Why would we buy something that we don't like? Just because critics haven't purchased a PS3 doesn't mean they haven't had the opportunity to play with one for a while and develop an honest opinion. That being said, this game looks very nice.

What I've seen thus far in "next gen" consoles doesn't really push me to buy one. I mainly chat in the classic forum because there's so many great games to talk about while in modern it's generally what's about to come out and the hype. There are a few good Xbox360 games because it's already been out for awhile, the Wii and PS3 are falling short of expectation for launch. I wasn't impressed with the racing game Walmart was showing off for the PS3 but that's all I've really touched, others I've met however say nothing thus far is special and are waiting for these great titles to be released. As for the Wii, really the only thing I like on there right now is Rayman.
Time will tell what system has the best selection, but overall each will have their special gems.

I think there is quite a bit of truth in your takes. For some of us, we are going to own each of the three systems, so we don't even have to worry about all the drama. We own all three, and we can walk into GameStop and look at all the games on all the walls. We don't have to focus in on one particular section, while completely shunning another. Of course, many of us are older, and have more disposable income to be able to actually have all 3 of these puppies. Alot of gamers aren't as fortunate, and they have to make hard decisions. When these consoles start costing $300 plus, (even the Wii, when you add extra Wii-motes and such), it's not as easy of a situation for alot of gamers. They have to jump on a particular bandwagon and hope they made the right call. It's human nature. If you can't have a particular console, for whatever reason, in the back of your mind you kinda hope that you aren't missing out on much. Some will hope that it will fail miserably, so they can feel comforted in knowing that they made the right call.
Gamers that have decided to pass on the PS3 this time around, have so far been enjoying their decision, because so far it's been one unmitigated dissaster after another for Sony and the PS3. But the haters, in the back of their minds.... they know that it's only a matter of time before a particular game is unveiled that totally destroys their comfort level in shunning the PS3. Is that game Ratchet and Clank for PS3? Maybe. It's hard to say. Sure, the game looks fucking amazing. If these screens are to be believed, then man..., this game is a big problem for both Nintendo and Microsoft. We know that this game would be impossilbe on Wii, and I'm not entirely sure it would be possible in a non-watered down form on the 360. But on the other side of the coin is the fact that ultimately this is a 3D platformer that we are talking about. I personally love 3D platformers, but in the grand scheme of things platformers just don't mean as much as they used to. Especially with the 360 and PS3 crowd. With Nintendo, it's a bit different because anything Mario is deified. super Paper Mario and Mario Galaxy are going to be huge, monsterous releases for the Wii, because they are Mario. Not so much because they are in the platforming genre. Ratchet and Clank looks like a killer app. But it isn't a First Person Shooter like Halo. It isn't a 3rd person Action/Adventure like God of War. It's a cutsey 3D platformer. Some gamers will avoid this game no matter how amazing it might look.
Time will tell, but one thing is for sure, there are some exciting times ahead. This console war is just going to get more and more interesting as each Month passes by. It's sure nice to own the Holy Trinity (Wii, 360 & PS3) and just be able to enjoy the whole enchilada without all the drama on the side!

I agree fully, it's gonna be really interesting in what happens in this generation, I fully plan to own all 3 systems this generation as well, but it's just gonna be exciting to see what happens.

For the record, I will absoutely buy a PS3 for a new Ratchet & Clank, if it is anything like GC or UYA. Those were fantastic (and beautiful) games, can't imagine how great a new installment could be!

Looks like I'll be getting a PS3 this fall. I love Ratchet and Clank and the video just cemented my purchase. Hopefully there will be a nice deal on the system by then cause I still don't want to spend $600.
