A Wii version? I can't wait for that
Hmm, I always heard that Namco wanted Katamari to remain a playstation exclusive. Maybe they've come to their senses, eh?
I see Katamari being a big hit on the Wii. Not because of the controls necessarily (although I really liked the dual stick controls in the first 2 games -- mind you, I haven't played the third one that came out on PSP) but because of the quirky nature of the game.
Actually I heard that Namco had planned no further releases to the series after We <3 Katamari, so this is somewhat unexpected. On one hand, I don't want to see Katamari Damacy exhaust itself as a game concept for the sake of more money (/looking at you, GTA). On the other hand, rolling Katamari is good for the soul, so the new console gen deserves to give it a shot en masse.
Hopefully any release is a bit sooner than mentioned in the link
I'd buy the 360 version over the Wii. The dual analog setup seems more appropriate for this game.
But I have to hand it to Namco. They finally wised up, and decided to give all the consoles some Katamari love.
I think the actual deal was that the game's original creator wanted no involvement beyond WLK, so it could be that they're doing it without him, which is something for which I have a hard time fending off a whole other layer of skepticism.
Not saying I doubt the news, but like you, I don't want Katamari burnout.
Pantechnicon: Me & My Katamari came out after We Love Katamari, so I don't get what you're going on about.
In any case, while I loved the first two, I don't see the franchise really supporting a ton of sequels.

It's like watching South Park on SD on an HDTV, then downloading an HD episode off XBL reformatted for 16:9 720p. It is like a world of difference.
So, please.. at least give me a port. Hell, I haven't even played Me and My Katamari yet. And since I don't feel like wasting money on a game for my aging PSP so I can play it with crappy controls, give me the game in HD and I will be your slave for life... after I finish playing that is.
I don't really see how a wii version would work, i also don't like the idea of it being made without the original creator. Oh, katamari damacy
If they make the controls like Super Monkey Ball, count me out.
But if they opt to use the nunchuk for the actual rolling and the Wiimote for direction, I'll be all over it.
SIXAXIS implementation might be interesting, but I'd prefer the dual analog myself.
To me, the winning move for some wii katamari action would to have the classic vc controller as an option, what with the dual analog sticks and such.
Welcome to Macintosh.

Apparently the Katamari team doesnt like the Wii controller (atleast for this game).

Ye, that would be the best solution, but since the VC controller isnt standard equipment it must be optional.
Are they any Sony exclusives left?
Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy 13.
