    Default pls help: jaguar protos

I've had these two jag protos for a while but never been able to do anything with them. Is there a trick to booting them or are they dead? I tried using them with a dev jag, holding B to boot the cart but no luck, I seemed to remember something about connecting two of the pins on the cable that sticks out to boot cats. It's all so long ago, I have trouble remembering what I had for breakfast yeasterday Thanks for reading, hope someone can help.

What are the protos you are trying to start up? From your post I take it they are CDs? Maybe they werent burnt right.

No they are eprom carts, Atari ASSY 7009 carts with 4 chips. Should these work directly in a regular jag? I just get a red screen, when I use the dev jag & press B, I get a black jaguar screen but nothing loads. One cart is labelled syn(dicate), the other just has a,b,c,d written on each eprom.

They could be unencrypted which would indicate that they need a special Jaguar (or need to be dumped) before seeing what's on them. I have 9 protos myself, and one of them is unencrypted (Iron Soldier Beta). With many of them you can tell by "UNC" or "UNE" on the white label across the EPROM.

With the A-B-C-D EPROMs, it's tougher to determine. Are the EPROM windows open? If so, that may have degraded the content to corruption, which would be unfortunate. I saved one such prototype -- Ultra Vortek -- from this fate when it was delivered to me with its EPROM windows open and immediately covered them to prevent any corruption from taking hold.

Encrypted prototypes do not need special hardware to boot them.
