Default Feedback for Sega Power Base Converter Issues

    Hello Guys -

I am having a strange issue with my Sega PBC. I recently purchased a great condition Genesis I (Model 1601). I also picked up a PBC stored carefully in its box with all the parts - It looks brand new. Then, because I did not own any SMS games, I picked up Space Harrier. When I hook up the PBC and insert Space Harrier, the title screen comes up, I press B or C to start, and then the system crashes. I thought it may be a contact issue, but I disassembled everything (PBC and Cart) and cleaned all contacts. Same problem. The Genesis plays its 16-bit titles with no issues. My concern is that there is some defect with the cart or PBC. I've never come across a bad cart in my 30 years of gaming. My concern is that since the PBC disbales the main processor in the Genesis and runs the SMS games on the Z80, there may be a problem there. The PBC is essentially a passthru unit, and I was sure that cleaning it would solve the problem. Any thoughts on how I can fix this without having to spend more money on buying another SMS game? Perhaps one of you have had a similar problem.

    Thanks for any input... CG72

The most common problem, is that there's a number of games that don't work with the Genesis/Megadrive controllers. First thing you should do is find (or make!) a Sega Master System controller. I own a couple myself, just because of those games.
