Default Having some SNES hardware issues.

So, here's how it went down.

Hooked up the SNES, using RF Switch, everything works, almost.

Sound is great, controls are great, picture sucks. The screen itself is hidden behind a wall of scrambled sprites. I can see the characters moving, but nothing is defined enough to actually play the game.

I toyed with the idea that I might be using the wrong channel, but I figure nothing at all would show if I was.

I cleaned the hell out of the system and the games. The problem is the same for each game, so I'm guessing the problem lies with the system.

I haven't tried connecting with a RGB wire or anything else for that matter.

    Ideas?

My guess is there's something seriously wrong with the cart slot, or one of the onboard chips has, well, thrown a transistor.

My first recommendation would be to see if you have a friend who also has a SNES so that you can test the carts and other stuff. Failing that, find a store that deals in games that old, see what they can do for you.

The game seem to work fine on other systems. There is a GameSwap near me, I'll take the system to them, maybe they can do something.

I tried using an RGB wire, but that didn't help.

I'm tempted to invest in an FC Twin......
