I've never seen this game in the wild. Is it rare at all?
I've recently seen a copy at Walmart for $24.98. Should I pick it up? Is it actually rare? Or is this just a locality thing? Is this more common elsewhere?
Thanks in advance

It went Greatest Hits, so it isn't rare by any means. Obviously, you shouldn't spend more than $20 (US) on it.
But yes, I do highly recommend picking it up. Fabulous game, and one of the best that the PS2 has to offer.
Do it, now.
The game's worth more than $20 in playability and originality. I got it awhile back for $12 NGH used and was totally worth it. I haven't gotten into the game but boy is it massive.

Not to +1, but it isn't rare, and you need to buy it regardless. I am currently playing through it and it is fantastic. It has its issues, but all in all, it is quite a magnificent experience.
I concur. SotC is one of the best games I have ever played and you should definitely pick it up.

I've played through this game three times without playing any other games. The only other game that has kept me this intrigued was Super Metroid back in '95. I whole heartedly recommend this masterpiece.
Another +1 and an emphatic YES for SotC. While the game is common the experience is very rare if not unique.

I agree with everyone here, certainly one of the best and most unique game I've played recently. And I do not think it is rare at all. I've seen many times the Greatest hits edition going for $19, and I got mine, second hand, for $15. But the game totally deserves $24.98 !
Y'know... I REALLY should pick SotC up meself. If it's real inexpensive (Greatest Hits ain't all bad), it's a definite buy.

I paid full price ($39.99) when it came out. SotC wasn't a game I wanted to wait for a price drop. Excellent game...one of the best PS2 experiences of all time.

I will also +1 the game it is visually stunning and shows that people can still make good video games if they put the effort in. But dear god don't pay 25 bucks for it it is not nearly worth that.
