Funny thing is, I just found out about that game today! I loved the classic NES game, and this would be a good collectors peice for me. The price is high, but it is tempting. Another reason is that my girlfriend just spent $60 for a new copy of Electroplankton (USA). I can NOT let her become more of a hardcore game collector than I am!!!!!!!
It isn't out yet afaik, copies will be sent out at the end of the month. Trust me, more copies will appear in time and the price will come down. Hence I'm waiting on it...

Just about every Club Nintendo item has gone down a lot after a few months. I think I have enough points for this though.

The rom is out there as well if you just want to try it out. Kinda useless for collecting though.
I picked one up at SoftMap in Akihabara yesterday. Had it mark 5100yen, so I figured what the hell, I got to pick it up. Pretty much what I expected, Tingle+Balloon Fight. But with updated graphics of course. Have only plaed it for about 15 minutes so far, but I'm digging it. Got lucky, SoftMap also had the DS Game & Watch Collection, and for only 2300yen/$20 used. Both of these for 7100yen, or about $58. Yeah, good day for me.

After I picked one up, I've seen the price jump to 6300-6800yen already. This are the "used" prices for the game. It's one of those games that might continue to rise in value due to the popularity of the DS and only officially being available from the JP Nintendo Club.
I wonder why some copies have Tingle in English on the front & others don't. Is it just a piece of paper stuck on the front on the box ? There are some $49.99 ones appearing now. Getting more tempted...

The one I have and the only one I've seen is the one with the "big piece of tape" on it. The one in the original message may have been an early design? If you like collectables & Tingle, for $40 jump on it! Been having a good time with it so far.

I have seen two cover arts floating around on ebay, like in this thread. The one is all in Japanese while the other actually says Tingle's Balloon Fight. Does anyone know if there are truly two cover art variants out there or if the one in english is just doctored up for some reason. I actually see people selling the one that has English on it on ebay....or at least that is what their picture is of.

The one in the first post was just pre-lim art. The one in HandOfGod's post is the correct (with the title in Japanese), as I have one myself here too.
Prices are dropping on ebay. I am seeing the game for just over $40 shipped from Japan. I don't know this seller and am not endorsing him/her but here is an example of a used game for $43 shipped:

Makes me glad that I didn't buy one as soon as they hit eBay. Do you think that they'll get any cheaper, or has the price of the game settled to $35-$40 ?
Pretty sure I saw this at Book-Off the other day. So does it have anything on the original Balloon Fight beyond updated graphics? I like that game, but for the 4,500 yen they were asking (I think...) it needs more than that for my money.
