Mostly Harmless
yeh seems the console may be faulty, problem is i cant send an xdk back to microsoft
interesting console. maybe it requires an american power lead, or a step down converter. does anyone else have any ideas?
If it's just a dead power supply, could you cannibalize one from another 360? I have heard Xbox and 360 are largely built of PC parts, could you substitute a PC power supply, even if it did not fit the form factor of the box?
opening that kind of console - especially as its an xdk would be risky to say the least (unless your experience)

The power supply on a dev 360 is the same as a retail 360, i'd borrow one of those first. Otherwise i'm colorblind, i don't know what color the led is supposed to be. You might want to check the link in my sig, there are a number of people there who have experiance dealing with XeDK's.
Huh, what?
The only thing in the sidecar is a hard drive and the performance analyzer. Beta units may have used different power supplies (i don't recall now), but i really think the dev units use standard power.
oh, if you want to see what's in the side car, someone took pics:

I just did some checking, a red power supply is a dead power supply... borrow one.

Hi i assumed the same until the ppl over at assembler showed me pics of the xdk power supply. i`ve already tried a friends power supply and hop i havent done any damage, cant see how i could`ve done if it needed more power.
Hmm... i'm not sure. We don't have any kits with the side car here, the debug units have the same power supply.
My offer still stands tho.
Yea, you will need a psu with a different voltage
they look pretty together dont they

If a standard 360 PSU won't work with your XDK, I heard that an ATX PSU from a PC will power a 360. That solution may be worth a look.

Move 'sig' for great justice.
I have an XDK for sale if anyone wants one, and it works!
Keep an eye out on ebay. About a week ago, I saw someone selling a power supply that he listed as having a unique power output (different from regular xbox). That may be what your looking for.
