It depends what you sell and what methods of payment you require/offer. If you're selling something that generally interests younger buyers, you're simply going to have more NPBs.
Do you accept Paypal? I've noticed a lot of NPBs where the seller doesn't accept PP, the buyer only wants to pay with PP, so the transaction ends up not happening. My friend's uncle does this when he sells and he has an obscenely high amount of NPBs.
I used to have a big problem with NPBs, but ever since I required all bidders to have a Paypal account, it has mostly stopped. You still get the occasional deadbeat, but so far, since late '06 when I started this policy, I've only had maybe 10 NPBs out of thousands of items sold, which is a much better ratio than I had previously.
I still accept (and prefer) mailed payments, but the buyer has to be registered with PP. It also makes it easier to track down people and hassle them for not paying, because you can just invoice them until they get so annoyed, they pay.

None in about 40. Maybe I'm just lucky, or the 'I'm sending the boys round with crowbars' approach works after all.
