A Japanese version would be nice too. It's just to bad I can't find a sealed US PS2 version for a decent price![]()

Maybe they are planning on milking each title individually via future XBLA and Wii downloadable games. They already released Metal SLug 3 this way on XBLA. Perhaps thats the first of many.

If you really want it, just bear down and order one off Amazon. They are coming from GDQ and are new and legit. It's 30sumptin bucks, but its Slug and its good.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

Nobody buys the games SNK has out NOW, no way they will reprint an older game... nobody really bought MSA for PS2 when it was out, which is why Circuit City had to clearance it, TRU had to clearance it, Gamestop had to drop the price, etc etc.
Everyone wants it now (myself included) because it up and vanished... nobody wanted it when there were tons on the shelf. And if SNK did reprint it, they would probably do it at $40, and nobody wanted to buy the game at $40 (again, myself included).
Not really a slam on you, just saying. Nobody would stock the game anyways, I mean, nobody right now except Gamecrazy is stocking World Heroes and Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol 2, not even Gamestop. No way a retailer would agree on a restock on a game they had trouble selling in the first place.
I am actually kind of pissed no store is stocking Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol 2, figured at least Gamestop would get it in but it's not even in their system.. and Amazon keeps running out of World Heroes Anthology. SNK really needs to get more on the ball on these releases, that is one thing I agree with you on, FFBA 2 just came out and the only place I can get it from is Amazon? Way to go, SNK.
It just sucks I was in the middle of moving when the game dropped to $20, and the trick to finding games on Gamestop's store locator that aren't on the website no longer works, since they changed how that works =/ I'll have to call an EB and see if they can do a 30 mile search, I will take new but open for $20.. better than the $24.71 some Ebay guy has up en masse, with jacked up almost $8 shipping, and an auction page I can barely read because it's so full of useless colors and garbage.
Sorry I got a bit off topic, but SNK US has really gotten on my nerves lately.

Not new copies of the game... those ones that pop up are used. The method I used was to find NEW copies of games that aren't listed on Gamestop.com at all. I assume every one here knows how to make used games show up that are OOS, but once a game is OOP and OOS on the website and is brand new, they just remove the listing for it altogether. I mean, cmon, I've been on CAG since it's very early years, I know all the tricks at this point
There used to be a trick via the old Gamestop.com, where if you used the store locator, it popped up a NEW window with it's own unique URL. However, if you knew the EB / GS SKU for the new game, it was very easy to pop that in the locator window and find out which stores still had copies of OOP games.
That is how I found Yggdra Union for $20 new back in the day, at an EB that didn't even know they had it until I called and they found it in the stock room. It was the only store that said 1-3, and sure enough, they had 1 left.
This is also how many people I know found new copies of Etrian Odyssey when GS dropped it to $20 new. Hell, I used this trick for years.
However, now, the store locator is located in a script in it's own page, and no longer pops up a new window, so if there is a way to find games that *aren't* listed, I don't know it yet because the stock locator is no longer it's own entity, and neither do the people I know who go to CAG.
Hopefully this makes sense. Now, to find something like MSA, I have to call (or go to) a store, and have them do a search, since they still have access to new sku's and the locator even though it's OOP and not even on the website or in store. EB was able to do a 50 mile search for all new copies of Etrian Odyssey just a week ago, and actually found one for me. Now I have to rely on them instead of simply doing the search for it myself.
I hate the new locator, FWIW, because it only shows the closest 3 stores that supposedly have it, the old stock locator used to show EVERY store in however big a radius you wanted it in.

Yeah, I beat 6 on PSP this morning with unlimited continues because I wanted to see what might be, for the foreseeable future, the last 2D Slug game. It is probably the best retro collection I've played on the PSP, second only to my other favorites, Capcom Classics Reloaded and the Japanese Taito Memories Pocket in terms of value. I figured a used copy at $16.19 with my Edge card is worth it, but I don't see the need to pay $39.99 like most of the other people here.
Gamestop not carrying World Heroes and the second Fatal Fury collection? Somehow, I doubt it when it's touting SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 for PS2 and PSP on its website right now. Unfortunately, they just don't allow pre-orders for items $20 or less, so I assume those games will trickle into GS eventually, either officially or unofficially.
There are many copies of the first Fatal Fury collection and Art of Fighting cluttering up the used boxes these days, so you might be right, Roufuss!
Currently catching up on PSN, WiiWare, Wii U E-Shop and Xbox Live Arcade exclusives I missed.
I've never once seen World Heroes Anthology in a Gamestop, and when I didn't notice FFBA Vol 2 on the website, I went to two different stores to enquire about it... it's not in their computer, at all, as new. Both stores never even received World Heroes! I think it's because when KoF XI and the like came out, Gamestop charged $20 for them as opposed to the $15 they should have been, and Gamestop got burned, and simply decided to not carry them? I guess SNK Arcade Classics is coming to two systems and GS figures it's more "bang for your buck". I honestly don't know. I'm sure they'll carry the games used when someone trades them in, but they aren't getting new copies at all, which definitely sucks. I already ordered off Amazon, but they don't have World Heroes!!
I just got back from Circuit City to get KoF XI and Art of Fighting for $10 a piece, and CC had TONS of those too... so it's no wonder retailers don't want any more collections. This means SamSho Anthology probably won't be in store either though
And Slug 6 isn't the last 2D Slug game... Metal Slug 7 is coming to the DS, and it's fully 2D
For some reason I didnt like 6 very much... loved 1 - 3, was iffy on 4 and 5, and just didn't like 6. I need to give it another try.

Yeah, the interview on MSA alludes to the fact that 6 was considered to be the last 2D game in the series at one point. I had forgotten about 7 on DS.
The problem is that the retailers think that casual players want to get into these cheap SNK game compilations, which isn't true because I don't think most of them know what SNK is, so the retailers loaded up on KOF, AOF and FFBA and they'll be sitting there for a while. The same thing happened with Taito Legends 1 & 2. I've seen them sitting around at Circuit City, too.
Currently catching up on PSN, WiiWare, Wii U E-Shop and Xbox Live Arcade exclusives I missed.
Around here you can find Fatal Fury Anthology, King of Fighters 11, SNK Battle Collosium and World Heroes Anthology at pretty much any Gamestop used or Circuit City, Toys R Us and Best Buy new. All are $14.99 and below.

It was mentioned on CAG, and I noticed it myself, that Gamestop suddenly got in used copies of this on the website, and in some stores for no reason - someone bought one online, and the game looks untouched.
Seems like Gamestop bought copies of the reprint, opened them, and for whatever reason, is selling them as used, which wouldn't be the first time they have done something like that. I noticed that a ton of stores seemingly got some in out of nowhere, and I don't think everyone just decided to trade the game in all at once. I'm talking about one store used to have one out of however many, and now around 8 stores suddenly got copies in at the same time.
It's definitely worth checking out your local Gamestop, since you might be able to find a "used" copy that's never been touched, at least according to CAG.
