    Default Sega Saturn Game Recommendations

Hello. Just got a Sega Saturn with Nights,3d cont, tomb raider and a few other loose games. Any owners got any good game suggestions. I like shooters fps and 2d, Indy Jones type games, nothing too hard to beat, games that are only on the Saturn would be great. I already have most of the new systems but 360. Any help is greatly appreciated. I find users are better than reviews. Plus I just want some fun not overly complicated games to play. Thanks in advance.

I know you will get 1000 posts stating this but try Guardian Heroes. Ok, you will be dropping around $100 for a complete copy but it's a fantastic game that is also great to play with friends. If you can't afford it then save up for it

If price isn't a problem, try Panzer Dragoon Saga, Shining Force III, Dragon Force and Radiant Silvergun.

I've owned a Saturn for many years, and posted videos of most of the good games here: http://www.YouTube.com/user/gameofyou1

Three Dirty Dwarves and Shining the Holy Ark are two exceptional Saturn exclusives which often get overlooked.

If you like Bomberman, the Saturn version is one of the best if not the best to date.

Elevator Action Returns is a great update to the classic with new mechanics, three different characters and 2-player mode. Original game is also unlockable.

Cotton Boomerang, a shooter but it's fairly easy (you can block shots and you have smart bombs) and it's got a 2-player mode. Gorgeous 2D visuals in that one.

    Guardian Heroes
    Saturn Bomberman
    Three Dirty Dwarfs
    Clockwork Knight
    Clockwork Knight 2
    Burning Rangers
    Sonic R
    Die Hard Arcade
    Panzer Dragoon

All of these titles I've mentioned were mostly Saturn exclusives. (Sonic R was also released on PC).

As someone else pointed out, Guardian Heroes will cost you, but it's one of the most rewarding and satisfying experiences in gaming I've had over the years.

Clockwork Knight 1 & 2 are highly overlooked side scrolling platformers.

Die Hard Arcade is an excellent Arcade beat-em-up done in a 3d polygon style.

Sonic R is a largely under-rated game that has some great visuals and charming gameplay. I happen to love the soundtrack, while more gamers can't get past how cheesy it is.

If you have a real taste and "eye" for those weird one-of-a-kind games, I'd check out "Mr. Bones." There isn't a lot of material on it (I believe) on the web, and its certainly not one of the must owns for the system but its still interesting enough (and different enough) to give it a look.

Saturn has some of hte best home versions of a few Taito games like Metal Black, Elevator Action Returns, and Liquid Kids.

The Arcade Gears series of releases is awesome as well. Image Fight & X-Multiply is not to be missed, and Three Wonders is really great also!

You need Darius Gaiden and Panzer Dragoon II. Saga is great, but it's an RPG, and pushing the $200 price tag. I've listed some more greats below:

-Astal (often overlooked, under appreciated platformer)
-Virtual On (especially if you're lookin' to drop $90 on the twinsticks)
-Sonic Jam (one of the few Sonic compilations that lets you lock Sonics 2 and 3 on to play as knuckles. You can even lock onto Sonic 1 to open up the secret minigame. The 3D Sonic Museum was a nice touch too).
-Virtua Cop 2 (but only if you have the stunner)

Those are the best exclusives I could think of that weren't mentioned already, but if you've got Street Fighter Alpha 2 for the Playstation, I recommend throwing it away and buying the superior Saturn version. Same goes for any other 2D Capcom game. Oh! And don't forget Last Bronx

Have to agree with you on Sonic R. I can't remember how many times I've beaten that one and unlocked all the characters.
