    Default TMNT Arcade CRT Issues.

I bought this recently and have been putting a decent amount of hours on it with friends. But even more recently I have noticed that green lines show up on the screen with seemingly no motive. It shows up when ot wants to.

When I power on the cabinet it may or may not be there, also it may show up in the middle of play.

Sometimes it goes away sometimes it doesnt.

Also I noticed it mainly shows when the screen should be dark/black.

    Can I fix it?

As always any info is greatly apprecicted.

If you haven't registered yet over on KLOV / arcade-museum.com then do it. You'll need the help of their monitor repair forum at one point or another.

If the screen comes up as a wash when this happens it's probably due to a cold solder joint on the neckboard, my dedicated Klax has this issue with the blue occasionally but I haven't had the time to address it (and that getting the monitor out of the cabaret is a PITA). That doesn't look bad though, you may want to try turning down the brightness and/or focus a hair to see if it goes away. Retrace lines like that are usually due to having one or the other up too high, making them visible. Could also try turning your green down a hair if you have an adjustment pot for it. BE VERY CAREFUL AROUND THE MONITOR, use something long and non-conductive to turn the pot, like a zip tie or something if you don't have an adjustment tool.

I'll try that. There are 2 sets of pots on the monitor. One on the board connected to the tube. And the other mounted next to that on the monitor mount.

Update to come after my attempt.

I'd pull the manual for your monitor chassis, it should be available online. The first ones you want to try are on the back of the flyback, they should be the "screen" and/or "focus" adjustments.

Screen has been fixed a while. I forgot about this thread. It was one of the pots. Fixed it right up. I just bought some particle board yesterday and am about to rebuild the joy box.

The large box mounted on the front of the arcade cabinet that holds all the joysticks and buttons.

Unlike a lot of arcades the joys and buttons are on a large box that is wider than the arcade cab itself. Mainly it's because this arcade is four player. It has a lid which opens via 2 latches on the inside for maintenance and testing connections. It also has latches that detach the whole box from the cabinet.

The person I bought this from had the arcade in a barn and sadly the joy box was outside soaked from rain. So being particle board it swelled and is flaking apart. I just got the wood to make a new one. And I have a new topside decal to replace the old one.

Now I just need to make the cuts and paint it. It will be a difficult project mainly because I need to cut a router line around it for the T molding. And I need to recess four large squares about halfway through it to get the joysticks to fit right.
