News to me. Coincidentally, I just found out that the Famicom had a microphone today in the new Nintendo Power.
I'm curious to what games used this feature as well... and what exactly did the mic do in the game?
the question is, how did palutena no kagami used it?
In Palutena no Kagami it was used in the "haggle with shopkeeper" code that involves pressing Up, A and B (or something) on controller 2 in the US version. On the Disk System all you have to do is shout into the mike.
In Zelda you could use it to stun Pols Voices.
In Takeshi no Chosenjo there's actually a karaoke part that "gauges" your performance, but you can get around it with a code.
In the Japanese Raid on Bungeling Bay, there's a 2-player competitive mode that lets player 2 control the ground forces and call on enemy air fighters with the mike.
In Doraemon there's a character that attacks by singing very badly whenever you shout into the mike.
That's about all I can think of right now. The mike itself could really only detect whether someone was talking/shouting/blowing into it or not, so games couldn't do any fancy voice recognition with it or anything.
