People use tons of abbreviations in the buying and selling forum. Could somebody give me a quick run down on the most popular ones?
I'm trying to understand what the heck people are talking about.

WTB = Wanting To Buy
WTT/WTTF = Wanting To Trade/ Wanting To Trade For
FS = For Sale
FA = For Auction
FT = For Trade
hope that helps
Heh, and all this time i thought wttf stood for "Want To Try and Find", not sure where I got that from![]()

Curiosity killed the cat.... Satisfaction brought him back.
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
'Til then I walk alone...
I didn't even want to guess what WTTF meant since I'd probably be wrong, but now I know. You help one person, you end up helping others.
(oh, and when you see stuff like FS/T it usually means For Sale or Trade; I'm notorious for using that abbreviation)
and half the time FS really means FA. People use the wrong one all the time. One of my pet peeves since I prefer dealing here for a straight sale instead of hassling with ebay for a week. If I wanted that trouble I would have found your auction when I searched ebay![]()
Totally agree. I hate opening up a "FS" thread and first thing I see is an ebay link. Please people, us the right abbreviation!Originally Posted by AlanD

The FS / FA mix-ups drive me nuts too. That's why I recommend using eBay in your subject, ie, "EBAY: Handful of cheap games and crap!" No question there's a link.
Stuff being auctioned is not "for sale." "For sale" means you have a set price you're selling it for. "For auction" means your item will go to the highest bid you get - whether on eBay, in a newsgroup auction, or you're fishing for best offers here. Ta-da.
Still Around...Still Gamin'...
I will add these to the sticky post.
