Default Is it possible to remove corrupted data from a PS2 memory card?

On Sunday, I bought a first-party PS2 8mb memory card at a Goodwill, and I discovered that there is some corrupted data that can't be removed. Every time I try, it just leads to a "delete failed" message.

I have been able to delete other save files on the card and I have plenty of space left, but I'm wondering if it's possible to delete the corrupted file. I have no problem with removing all the saves on the card if necessary.

UPDATE: The corrupted file has been removed, and the other saves ended up getting deleted as well.
