Outrun, Space Harrier, and After Burner are far better on TG16/PCE than Genesis, and Power Drift is good too and wasn't on any of Sega's consoles that generation. Yes, Golden Axe and Altered Beast are no good on PCE and PCECD, but that doesn't mean ALL of the Sega games on PCE/TG16 were bad. The rest were much better (Shinobi and Fantasy Zone are the other two I can think of, and both are okay I think).

Indeed. Outrun, Space Harrier, and After Burner really are far, far better on TG16 than Genesis. Sega's "scaler" engine somehow was terrible for years on the Genesis, which really was very unfortunate considering how many "scaler" games they had... Turbo Outrun, Outrunners, Thunder Blade, and Galaxy Force II would also all have been better on TG16 had versions of them existed, I'm sure. They don't, but PCE Power Drift does, which is kind of interesting. Obviously it's not as good as the arcade or Saturn versions, but it's pretty good considering the hardware it's on! They didn't even try that one on Genesis, and somehow skipped Sega CD and 32X too despite that they could have done a better job. Neither TG16 or Genesis have hardware sprite scaling, but NEC just had a better software scaling engine than Sega.

The only Genesis game from Sega I can think of with really good scaling is Outrun 2019... that one looks great. But almost all of the others, not so much.

I mean, yes, sometimes Genesis versions were better. The Genesis was in some ways more powerful. But always better? Absolutely not.

I like SNES Raiden, sure it's slow and easier, but it's got 2 player simultaneous, unlike the Genesis, TG16, or PCECD versions, and it's pretty much the same great game...
