So I frequent this half price books near my house about twice a week. The person that does the video game area does it well. Once in awhile there are great clearance deals on psx games, and once in a great while they get some Turbografx stuff. So, last week I come wandering in and locked up in the high-buck case is a Turbo Express. Mint. $150. Tv tuner as well. Now I haven't geeked out about video games in awhile. The last time was when I found a Tengen Tetris and River City Ransom in the same stack of games at goodwill, and that was about 10 years ago. But I am fully geeking at this point. I am hoping that no one else will get it before I can ask the person behind the counter to pull it for me. All goes well and I am now the proud owner of a Turbo Express. I have had a copy of Super Star Soldier I have been wanting to play for quite awhile. In it goes. Let me tell you. Emulation is just not the same. The way the dish on the control pad is just how I remember it. Everything is good. This is why I game. This is why I collect. This is why I have been pulled back in. Over the last 3 years I have been slowly liquidating my collection and drifting away. I am back. Woooo-hoooo! Dodged a bullet. Not a literal one, a pixelated one flying towards my little star soldier. Is there any other kind?
