    Default TurboExpress screen brightness problems

    : (

I've been enjoying my new used TurboExpress like crazy for the last week or two.

This just started like an hour ago. Whenvever I power on any TurboExpress game, the screen is only bearable to look at on the lowerest brightness level. After about 30 seconds, even on the lowestlevel, the brightness increases dramatically to the point of hurting one's eyes. This didn't start until I inadvertantly touched the brightness dial when looking for the volume and then started playing with it to see what it looked like.

I can't figure out what's wrong, does anyone know how to help?
    Alert the internet.

Perhaps the knob wheel thingy needs to be replaced. They are basically variable resistors, but it sounds like it's not resisting anything and letting the whole signal through full blast. Just a shot in the dark, really...a guess. Probably not much help, but I thought I'd throw that out there. Maybe it's just a bad solder joint on it...

Strange. I get the reverse problem when batteries run low (which isn't after long) - the brightness knob seems to stop working and the screen fades away (not at a noticable rate; it's the frog-in-the-slow-cooker deal).

Gonna move this one to the Tech forum, those people have much knowledge on fixing things there.

    Moved.
