I am trying to find a tool that will unscrew an unusual screw.
Basically it is a trox screw with a spike in the middle.
Does anyone know what this is called?

Sounds like what is commonly called the security torx:
Top one. Grab one of these quarter-inch bit kits, just about every electronics supply outlet has them, about 10 bucks.
Thanks
I found a 100 pc on Ebay for 20 with shipping-
I will have all I ever need now lol
Can it open most Acclaim Carts, I need one for NBA Jam T.E for the 32X
It should. Security torx is the same all around. Just be sure you have the right size is all.
I got a 100pc security set off Ebay for 4.99(not including S&H)
So- Next time I need a weird bit- I wont go crazy because I cant unscrew it and frantically count down the days until the part arrives lol!
there is a screw on genesis carts i cant take off with a set i got off ebay - but someone here sugested to take a plastic pen and melt it into the hole with the screw in it -- works great - and is re-usable for a short time
so if you come across something you can't find a tool for you can always give this a try
The human operates out of complex superiority demands, self -affirming through ritual, insiting upon a rational need to learn, striving for self-imposed goals, manipulating his environment while he denies his own adaptive abilities, never fully satisfied.

Googlefest1 what you need for Genny games is the 4.5 mm gamebit.
I've never had to use anything other than security torx, spanner heads, tri-wings and gamebits for the most part. Spanner heads are represented in the illustration second from the bottom, two parallel dots. You can even use them instead of gamebits in a pinch.
Yea- I got the 3.5 and 4.5 mm game bits from ebay
