My Gaming Collection (Now at Google Drive!)
If my car is finally ready, I most certainly will. It's seemed to have gotten lackluster reviews from importers, but Square has been said to have fixed (or atleast tweak) what was wrong and it's said to be a more enjoyable experience. Regarless of the outcome it's FF7 and it's Vincent, call me a fanboy but I'm sold.
yeah I'm all about FF series and this is one I am definately interested in picking up, I may just do so today. I skimmed the reviews but didn't care much cuz FF and vincent is the shxt.
I'm going to pick up my copy tomorrow. I'm not too concerned with the mediocre reviews. Vincent is my favorite FF7 character so I'm sure I'll enjoy it.
IGN gave it a good review, if it really means anything anymore.

Apperently it's not going to be released until tomorrow, which was something I was afraid of. Man I was planning on making a night out of it, which is kind of sad now that I think about it.
Oh well, I "reserved" a copy at EB for the hell of it, so I'll just wake up early to pick it up and play it for awhile before work.
I hear it's a steaming pile of shit.
GameSpot gave it a 6/10 and 1UP gave it a 4/10
Yeah, really. I buy everything FF and I'm gonna wait for a long time on this one.... it better be cheap.Originally Posted by Xizer
They also axed the pay-to-play online feature. Probably a good thing.
I like Final Fantasy 7. My buddy imported Dirge.
I'm totally in a relationship with it in which I absolutely hate it.
This game is just as bad as Shadow the Hedgehog, seriously.
I picked it up yesterday. I had it reserved at GameCrazy, but they aren't getting theirs until "Wednesday or Thursday." Gamestops and EBs around here had them, so I snag one there.
I ended up playing for just a short amount of time. I mean I love Final Fantasy VII and I do like Vincent's character, but something about that game just seems stale. Then we looked at EGM and it got horrible reviews...I'm not really surprised though.
RIP Kamino. 1984-2010. Yes, yes I do like nes...
<+skaar> Maybe you should ask yourself "What is it about me that makes men not want to let me penetrate them?"

I picked the game up this morning and it doesn't seem like the horribly unplayable game that some people try to make it seem, then again that's taken from reviews of the original release. Not to say that it's perfect by any means, I already noticed several problems just from the tutorial and and the first hour of the game, but I've also played worse games in it's genre by companies you'd expect this type of game to come from.
My only real problem is the lack of duel language, I'm tired of hearing Spikes (Steven Jay Blum!!!) voice for every "badass hero guy", especially when his voice doesn't even fit the character.
Wow Vincent is really that way? Shocking revelation kid fenris

Same here, but I haven't played it yet. I watched the video review at IGN, and by the looks of it, it's one I definately want to play, but not a game I'm OMGWTFBBQ crazy about. Now that I've seen it in action, I can wait to play it.Originally Posted by Eternal Tune

Eventhough Blum is my favorite VA, I agree with you.Originally Posted by exit
I just picked up the game last night and played it for about 3.5 hrs and decided that it is a good game after all. It may not be as good as actual FF games, but it definately is fun. I think the graphics also look to be some of the sharpest that square-enix has done on PS2. Some of the story is a tiny bit corny but only in very few spots. Upgrading your character and guns are the best part of the game. After I put it down to go to sleep, I wanted to play more.
Checking out the American version finally, and yep, Square-Enix fucked up this FF7 compilation real good.
I don't want to get too involved in a discussion for the game right now, mainly because I'll probably be writing a review for work, but this game is just so 'blah.'
Gameplay-wise, this game couldn't scream 'I'm generic and derivative' any louder. There is nothing new ocurring in this game. You shoot. You run. You have an 'okay' melee attack. Nothing bad, but nothing special. But hey Mr. Auto-Aim, good job being way too forgiving.
But then Vincent loves to get in the way of your vision. Thanks bud. I might be making a fuss over something small, but its annoying to just see vincent's hair and then a sliver of an enemy.
Storyline? This ain't no award winner, but did somebody say cutscenes? This game interrupts gameplay about every 10 seconds for another cutscene.
What's that Dirge? You gotta use a cutscene to show me that Vincent can 'super-defeat' the enemy I just fucking defeated? Stop wasting my time and pullin' me out of the game. That's a real fine way to kill the immersion for the game.
I dunno, its not absolutely terrible, but its just no where above average. I like my FF7 as well, by the way.
You tell it like how it is dude!Originally Posted by GrayFox
