    Default golden axe style games

I've been playing a lot of golden axe 1 and 2 for the genesis this weekend and I was trying to think of some other similar games. The only one that came to mind was Legendary Axe for Turbografx. So does anyone have some suggestions for golden axe style hack 'n slash games? Anything for nes, sms, genesis, turbo, snes or saturn would be nice.

You might enjoy Knights of the Round for SNES:

Also try King of Dragons and Legend for the SNES. Both of which I have been meaning to pick up.

Although not quite the same. Blades of Vengeance for the genesis has a golden axe style to it and is 2 player co-op.

    SNES:
    King of Dragons
    Knights of the Round
    Legend
    Magic Sword
    Pirates of Dark Water

Also, DEFINITELY hunt down the Dungeons and Dragons double pack for the Saturn. Japan only but it's two of the best overall beat'em ups that exist.

    "Alien Storm" on Genesis

"Golden Axe" with a sci-fi setting.

Possibility is infinity! You must be satisfied!

Alien Storm is the same creator of Golden Axe.

Itīs curoius Gordon and Karla from Alien Storm ressembles respective Ax-Battler and Tyris Flare from Golden Axe.

Gilius Thunderhead from Golden Axe makes a cameo in Alien Storm for Arcade.

Gilius makes his presence in the moment of give notes for the player.
And the logo Golden Axe appears in Alien Storm for Arcade.

Yeah, definately the D&D double pack. Expensive but worth it. I have both games in their original CPS 2 format

And the Knights of Valour games on PGM. Absolute class. If you come across a KoV cab in an arcade, it's more than worth dunking a quick quid in it.

In my oppinion, the Sengoku series reminds me a lot of Golden Axe. Albiet a very TRIPPY version of Golden Axe. Does anyone else feel this way?

Anyways, if you haven't already I would suggest checking those games out. I own all three on MVS, personally 2 is my favorite.

    Namco's Dragon Valor.

    Except it's on the PS.

    Arcade
    The Crystal Kings
Legend of Heros (you can beat each other up) and 4p
Golden Axe 2 the revenge of Axe Battler (totally different to the genny port) 4p too

but nothing is quite like Golden Axe 1 Arcade.... it's just too awesome for words even after all these years.

    The PS2 remake stinks imho

    PC
    Ragnarock Battle Offline
    Mage Knight Apocolypse

i would say that Dynasty Warriors 4 hyper also has a GA feel.... and it's co-op..... quite exicting if you've never played 1,2.3,4,5ex plus alpha etc

I think there is a PS1 game which was likend to GA but I can't remember..... it was decent too.
