I found and bought a sealed resident evil 2 and a sealed resident evil 3 for the gamecube. Looking around, used copies are going for around 40 bucks. Are these games pretty rare? What is their worth? Thanks!

They use to go for quite a bit on eBay, but they got reprinted and aren't worth as much anymore.
40$ is about right on the ebay market. I keep meaning to pick them up to play on my wii. They got reprinted by a company called Game Quest Direct. There is a pretty interesting article about them here: http://www.siliconera.com/2006/01/16...s-of-reprints/
I stumbled across RE 0, 1, 3, & 4 for $8 each at a pawn shop the other day and passed on them, as I have plenty of other games ATM and was a little low on game funds for that week. Should have dipped in and bought them anyways but due to the reprint they're popping up all over the place and are very common in GS and EB.

Yeah the reprint thing is killing some games values.
The resale prices of these games were at their peak when RE4 was about to come out/still new. The reprints and the cooling off of the RE franchise in general worked together to drop the prices.
