God of War 2 - Finally beat this game the other day. Awesome game, overall. Slightly better than the first, but not by much. Though, I didn't like

    *spoilers*

the major cliffhanger at the end of the game. It clearly will have another game, but sadly will probably be on the PS3 which I won't have the money for that for a long time

Shining Force - I was surprised how short, simple and easy it was.

Star Wars Battlefront (PS2)- Beat both the Historical Campaign as well as the Galatic Conquest modes. I was so addicted I played for about 10 straight hours. Good fun.

Vampire (Master System)- beat this on my Dreamcast. I don't know much about the Master System...is their a region lockout? I believe this is a Europe only game and it was quite good, I wouldn't mind adding this game to my collection. One of the better Castlevania clones out their.

    #8 - Rogue Galaxy (PS2)

53 1/2 hours and I enjoyed almost every bit of it. The game is combat-intensive, so if you don't find yourself enjoying the combat after an hour or two, just quit and go play something else. While there are some decently designed dungeons around chapter 8, for the most part they're extremely bland and repetitious (I suspect one of the tricks they used to ensure as little loading as possible was to have the level cut up into pieces that they could jumble around and reuse wherever they wanted, much like tiles in a 2d game). Storyline isn't anything to really write home about either, but god DAMN if I didn't have fun playing the game.

I probably could have beat it in 10 hours less time and I could easily have spent another 20-30 without getting bored, but I forced myself to finish off the storyline so I could finally make some headway into my backlog.

Probably not going to play any more RPGs or long adventure games again for a few weeks/months. I need to play some blow-shit-up games.

    New Super Mario Bros. (DS)

So I've beaten 2 games thus far this year. That's pretty bad. I beat it right through so now I gotta go back and get more coins and unlock those other two worlds.

    #9 - 007: Everything or Nothing (PS2)

Not a good game at all. I don't know if I'd even go so far as to call it average. I don't know if I even want to ramble on about on everything I hate about it, but I will say that it captures the look, feel, and presentation of the Pierce Brosnan Bond movies perfectly.

If you have the option to play this game, do yourself a favor and fucking skip it.

Beat Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Cool ending, though I did beat it once now that I'm remembering, whenever I last had my n64 hooked up (around a year or longer ago).

I just beat Free Bird in Guitar Hero II. Medium difficulty. Career mode.

    ...

I think I broke the game. :rawk:

Time to unlock all the extra songs!

Dragon Quest VIII-just the main storyline. Not the bonus dungeon.

Great game, although I still have a bunch to do. I just wanted to move onto something else. Hope to have Final Fantasy XII and Paper Mario TTYD done in the next few months.

    #10 - Gun (PS2)

God damn, what an awesome game. Its ONLY shortcoming is its length, which itself isn't that big of an issue because of the excellent pacing, quality writing, downright FANTASTIC voice acting, and just all encompassing badassity of the package.

Brand new on Xbox it'll run you $10 at Gamestop (I think it's $15 on PS2 and $20 on GC), or you can hunt around for the PC version on the cheap or 360 version for under $30, but you simply MUST play it.

Figure I should start doing this

So far this year I've beaten:

    1) FF VII (finally decided to slog all the way through so I can bash it with full authority)
    2) FF X (actually enjoyed it way more than I expected to- that's always a nice surprise. Story got weaker as the game went on, though =/)
    3) Wonder Boy: Dragon's Curse (VC) (Played the SMS version to death. Very few differences, mostly graphical)
    4) Puzzle Quest (DS) (Awesome awesome game! Bejeweled meets RPG, way cool)

Halo (Xbox) - I just played Halo for the first time about 3 weeks ago. As a matter of fact I had never played a game on the black box nor touched a controller until 3 weeks ago when I found one at the pawn shop (I'm just catching up on the Xbox goodies). Halo was great fun, but a pure shooter in every sense of the word. Reminded me of the feelings I got when I played Wolf3D or Doom for the first time. It's definaltly going to go down in the books as a classic. I purchased Halo 2 as well, but I think I'll wait a bit and try some of the other Xbox titles I got.
